Hello Special People
Well, Thursday has certainly snuck up on us this week. We certainly have been busy. Doctors' appointments, birthdays and business meetings all in one week. All went well with the BCC surgery, and John sees miles better without his cataracts. His birthday coincided with the Nutrimetics Christmas Party, so he was able to bring the leftovers of the birthday cake home. I am worried now about what size he will be after Christmas. He has chocolate birthday cake and Christmas cake to decide between. It becomes too hard, so he has a slice of each. I told him yesterday it is showing in the front and on both sides. He will be working hard when we return to exercise classes in the New Year.
While it was a busy week, it was filled with fun. The week ahead also has me checking the diary so as not to forget anything. There is much to do inside, and John will be busy with lawns and hedges to have everything in shape before the NZ family arrives. We are really looking forward to having the New Zealanders over. It will be a special Christmas. I know I said the Xmas Tree was hard work, but seeing the children's eyes light up when they hear the bells playing and the lights flashing makes it more than worthwhile.
I made a new discovery while John had his eye surgery last week, "Harris Market Farms." Well, I was beside myself. I had been to one in Sydney but did not realize they were here in Brisbane. You must go there. They are in West Village at West End. What an array of produce and delicious food products. Seeing is believing girls. John thinks he is a major shareholder after our several trips. But he does admit he enjoyed the whole shopping experience. (Which I can assure you is really saying something when it comes to shopping. The normal reply is – we don't need this.)
After the shopping expedition, we were off to Anita's Gelato Bar, which is in the same complex. While enjoying the ice creams, we understood why the queue was out the door of the shop and right down the pavement outside. They were so yummy. It really topped off the shopping experience. Maybe this was why John enjoyed the shopping experience this time, having the treat afterwards.
I spent the morning out doing a few bits and pieces and loved the Xmas excitement in the air. It really is such a special time of the year, and I trust that each of you is experiencing this same love. Having highlighted this excitement, I fully understand the number of people who do not enjoy the Xmas period for several reasons, and we remember these folk in our prayers over this period.
I thought the following quote was so apt for Xmas and something to close with today:- Xmas brings family and friends together. It helps us to appreciate the love in our lives that we often take for granted. May the true meaning of the holiday season fill your heart and home with many blessings.
Let’s enjoy this special season as we send the blessings of peace, health and happiness to each of you this week.
Love Annette x
