Hello Everyone
Well, a bit of a different week here in the French household, and so pleased that our week of surgeries is over and we are both recovering well. Thank you to all of you for your kind messages, thoughts and prayers. They did help and go a long way to giving us the confidence, trust and faith towards a good outcome.
Not sure I will be out and about for a while. The nose and surroundings are puffy, so staying at home appears to be the best option for the next couple of weeks. Must be in shape for the New Zealanders when they arrive for Christmas. My eye today looks like I need to find a good Nutrimetics consultant to assist me with how to apply eye makeup. I was so blessed the day went well for me yesterday. I asked the admission sister would I see the doctor prior to the procedure, and her reply was, "You will see the doctor all day today." OH, so you think I will be here for the day? Well, you will certainly be here until after lunch. When the specialist was explaining the procedure, he told me with this Mohs surgery, there is only a 40% chance that we will remove all the BCC first go. They do the smallest incision to commence, and then the sample goes to the lab to see it is all clear, so you can imagine my elation when the sister came to me within the hour to say all clear and you are going back to surgery for the completion of the procedure. All our prayers were certainly answered.
John’s left eye looks a lot better than the right one. There has been no bleeding this time. He spoke to the doctor on Friday about how much blood was in the right eye after the first procedure. The doctor told him not to worry that he would do the left eye in green so he would be right into the Christmas Spirit. Such a kind a, caring specialist and a real character.
We looked a pair of wounded warriors sitting at the table yesterday with John in his dark glasses and me with the big ice pack of peas on my face with this white bandage wrapped around my head, trying to keep the pack in place. We both had a chuckle. Certainly, brings that attitude of gratitude to the fore for the importance of our good health.
So, all in all, a pretty quiet week here. We have been relying on Leisa to do the chauffeuring and run messages for us. Our experience of the week gives us many lessons. I always commence my day by affirming things we are grateful for in our lives. Sometimes we take the other important things in life for granted. E.g. to be able to shower by choice, go to the shops, drive a car, exercise, yoga etc, whenever we wanted to. We take all these things so much for granted that I forget to give thanks for them on a daily basis, and with us both restricted this last week, these things are very much in my thoughts.
John has spent time catching up on all the horses in his syndication. On Friday, his favourite "Greylander" just got pipped on the post at Ipswich. I did manage to pick this gorgeous "Mother's Love" rose to enjoy on my desk. So delicate with the most gorgeous fragrance, just divine.
The company continues with their 21-day Advent specials on the business front, and we will have the Boxing Day sales commencing on the 22nd of December. The company have also brought forward the January sale brochure, which will now commence on the 16th December.
My post-surgery requires the ice packs for 20 minutes every hour. As I can't put my glasses on with the packs, I am limited to my timing to attend to the office, so will close for today but once again sincerely thanking so many of you for your prayers, calls, texts and emails both wishing us well prior to our procedures and particularly afterwards. We are certainly blessed and extremely grateful.
“My cup runneth over” as we send peace, health and happiness to each of you.
Love Annette
