Hello Special People
Well, what a busy day here at our home. It's the end of the month and the financial year, and I decided it was time to rejuvenate my favourite garden.
Crazy, crazy – came the echo from you know who!!! But I did it with time to spare. I came inside all hot and bothered, had a shower and came downstairs to a delicious Lobster lunch with a special glass of Pinot Noir waiting for me – very decadent. The chef had really excelled himself. We had the lobster tails in the freezer, which needed to be cooked, so it was a surprise. It turned out to be a very special day, although I do have to catch up in the office tonight. A small price to pay for such a great day. While I certainly don't look a pretty picture, I do love the time in the garden.
I was so pleased to get the gardening finished. John has spent this week cleaning the dirt and mould off the retaining walls and off his precious brick driveway. It certainly built up with all the damp weather.
What didn't please me this morning was going outside to find that the possums had found our roses. I came out this morning to find all the new shoots on the roses eaten to pieces. They are so persistent here. As soon as we cover one area, they outsmart us and find somewhere just as juicy to nibble. John spends an hour a day covering up and trying to outwit these little animals. We were both outside this evening, covering as many bushes as we could.
I know the roses are causing us a problem, but I look to the heavens and know I am contributing to the environment with every bush I have. Each rose is like a tree, greening our environment whilst affording us such beautiful flowers and divine fragrance for nearly nine months of the year. We are so happy to be helping the environment. It is always a nice feeling to have everything all neatly tucked away, so while it was a long day and heavy work in the garden, I now rest easy knowing I have contributed to helping our precious environment.
Of course, when rejuvenating the garden, you must have the trip to Bunnings. New soil, new bark and those couple of new plants to brighten the garden. I came home with a couple of extras. A beautiful orchid and one of my favourite Cyclamens. Iwould love Kat to pop up a photo of the gorgeous orchid that we have so proudly seen reflower this year. Just sets the inside of the house, and so now I have both handled.
This really excites me, and the flowers are so delicate and beautiful. It has pride of place at the moment where we enjoy it daily.
So now it is off to the office to catch up. John is telling me the Lions are playing tonight, and I must admit I am happy that we are at home here in the warm ready to watch the game rather than at the ground in the cold. I do love the game and love watching the team in action. They have had a rough couple of weeks, but fingers crossed they will bounce back with a great victory tonight and still hold their place in the top four.
I mentioned last week our new owners of Nutrimetics, New Image. Well, we were given the privilege of trying some of their products, and my first product arrived today, so stay tuned for an update on how we are enjoying this new product next week.
I hope you have all enjoyed a great financial year and, like ourselves looking forward to an even better year in 2022-23. Keep warm and keep smiling. It is a fun thing to do.
Let's close with some wise words from Louise Hay – I am willing to release what is no longer necessary in my life. Wise words to commence our new financial year.
Take care, and we send the blessings of peace, health and happiness.
Love Annette
