Hello Special People
Well, another exciting week in the French household.
We have had our two eldest grandsons in our care while their parents are on holiday. We enjoy it so much. I am unsure how John keeps up with what is happening or what is needed. But he is still smiling, and he is always available for whatever is happening with the boys. More attentive than any Uber driver. We were back to one needing an early meal and one requiring a late meal as their sporting events fall at different times. Add the big football weekend last Saturday and Sunday and each of them going in different directions to watch the games with their mates. "Pa, do you mind dropping me off and picking me up after the game?” was the call from both. But the real highlight for me was Jack, the eldest, was going to a ball on Saturday night. So right up Granny's alley, he was going to look his best. I had the Tux over two days earlier for a thorough inspection. I washed the shirt and pressed the bow tie. Everything in place. Come time to help him with his bow tie, and we could not get the collar to close. It wasn’t even close. He has grown so much since he last wore the shirt. So, we had to leave it open and carefully place the bow tie so no one could tell his collar was open. He looked exceptional, and I am sure he would have won a few hearts even though he tells me nothing special is happening in this area. I am disappointed I did not take some photos.
This story reminded me of an occasion when I was doing makeup for a bridal party, and the bride's father came in with his suit pants almost 6 inches short of going around his waist. Again, obviously, a long time since he had worn the suit. Yes, you can imagine the panic of trying to find someone with a sewing machine to handle the drama. Certainly, changed the calm and peaceful environment we had been enjoying.
Our roses are responding to the beautiful Spring weather. I will have Kat enclose a couple of photos. They look better than last year. I think John must have got onto a new special fertilizer. I had him move them into a beautiful sunny area this year, and it no doubt helps with the speedy blooms. He moans his back will never be the same after lifting so many heavy pots—poor fellow. No footy left, and nothing happening but to moan. Some of his horses are close to racing again, so I am sure that will keep him busy and happy.
Just now, we are very excited about our upcoming Xmas release of products. How amazing is this social media? We were able to Zoom online last week as the company released our new Xmas range from Queenstown, NZ. The range and colours are outstanding. For me personally, one of our most beautiful and stunning brochures which will be available from 16th October. I am now busy arranging the Toowoomba and Ipswich face-to-face Xmas releases. There are a host of beautiful products to be released, and always a fun night. I will have Kat pop up an invitation for both events along with all details and registration. I would love you to join us.
By the time you are reading this, we will be saying goodbye to Spring and September. Our New Zealand family have already adjusted to daylight saving on Saturday, 24th September. Xmas is just around the corner, and will be here with us in a flash.
Enjoy this gorgeous weather and sunshine – and for those of us who can remember John Denver –"Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy. Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry. Sunshine on the water looks so lovely. Sunshine almost always makes me high."
Sending happy blessings
