Hello Special People
“Spring is nature’s way of saying let’s party”. Robin Williams
Well, we are certainly being blessed with the beautiful weather to spring into Spring. I saw a billboard yesterday "Spring has Sprung. And it really has. I can see in the garden how so many shoots have appeared on all the plants in the garden. I am looking forward to the next couple of weeks when they will all be in bloom. "Spring has Sprung."
How was your weekend? John and I had a fun weekend. Friday night, we were off enjoying a scrumptious meal at a restaurant called "The Golden Pig", courtesy of our grandson Will. When he first mentioned it, I know I hesitated at the name, but one should not be fooled by a name. The "Golden Pig:" at Newstead is a real surprise. Wonderful Asian food and top-class service. My only regret was I am sure I had more than my share of the beautiful wine which resulted in a very restless night's sleep. We are both enjoying being able to go back to dining out, something we have not enjoyed since 2020 with Covid.
On Sunday we decided to go to the “Mosaic Fun Festival" in the Roma Street Parklands. What a wonderful occasion for so many of our new people coming from so many various lands to become Australian citizens. We were able to sit in and watch so many of them take their oath to become Nationalized. Very moving to hear some of the stories of how long it took them to decide to leave their motherland along with their family and friends to start a whole new life. It was heartening, however, to hear them say they know they made the right decision and have never looked back since their arrival. I could feel the tears running down my cheeks, realizing just how blessed we all are here in Australia.
The activity on the day spoke for itself. We loved seeing all the different nationalities in their traditional costumes performing and singing. So much entertainment, and of course, my favourite thing was they had food from so many nations to experience. A great experience and a beautiful way to spend a glorious spring day.
"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared". Buddha
As promised, our visit to the movies last week was most enjoyable. Julia Roberts and George Clooney never disappoint. It was a feel-good movie. No sex scenes, no strong language and some clever humour. While I could easily sit through the movie again, not sure it is up to Pretty Woman, which I have watched many, many, many times over. I still remember staying overnight at a motel when we were travelling ready for an early morning flight and being annoyed at John for switching on the TV until as he was flicking through the channels, yes, you guessed right, Pretty Woman was being advertised and suddenly it was perfectly fine to have the TV happening!!!!!
May Spring visit each of your lives with messages of peace and moments of happiness.
Sending love
