Hello Everyone
I guess by now you have realised I'm always on the lookout for those special sayings and quotes. Yes, you are right. Yesterday I found this unique piece which I'm sure you will all enjoy.
“Before you react, think. Before you spend, earn. Before you criticise, wait. Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try. “
Thank you to William A Ward for these words of wisdom. He was obviously a very wise man.
John often says to me “Annette you are not listening”. It is a hard one for many of us. We want to get our thoughts out there. Many times I have said to myself 'You should have listened first." Listening is so important to learning. To me, learning is the adventure of life. I try to challenge myself to learn every day. At the moment, there is certainly plenty for us to be learning as we monitor our new ways to connect and service our people. There is an immense concentration on improving and learning new social media skills on this platform.
I am sure this refers to patience, and here I think you either have a short fuse or a long fuse. I often feel at the end of the day while sitting all day in the office and challenging my thinking, it is harder work than doing a physical day in the garden. It is a great goal to set ourselves to endeavour to extend our fuse. Yes, we can all change. It is the nature of life, and there is no challenge that we cannot overcome.
Forgiving should be well to the fore for all of us. It is all about caring. This has certainly been highlighted in these times of isolation. Someone once said the essence of life is to care and the opportunity of life is to serve. This is something that we do really well in Nutrimetics.
John loved the piece – before you spend, earn. His comment was “I’m sure we have discussed this many times”. No comeback on this one. We girls do love to go shopping. Always easy to justify when the credit card account comes in to say “gosh look how many people I have supported this month”.
So many times on our business journey, I have discussed with people about quitting. The only time Nutrimetics does not work is when you stop working. I have even had the same discussions with our children and our grandchildren. Quitting is not an option. The option is to change. If it is a business venture look at how you can overcome the challenge. Go over it, under it, around it, whatever the challenge. Where there is a will, there is a way. Now it might be you that has to change, or it may be the way you are doing things that has to change.
Giving has never been difficult for me. It has played a major role in our success in Nutrimetics. I have never been afraid to give. It may have been a product, a special award to an achiever or it may have simply been time or a big hug to someone in need. As William Ward says, GIVE before it is too late.
I’m pretty sure none of us were around on November 8th 1918. But take note of the Public Notice that appeared on 19th November 1918.
It does sound familiar would you agree. So we beat the Spanish Flu by isolating, and I am sure we are well on our way to beating our current situation.
Love receiving all your kind comments, and we look forward to being in touch again next week.
Take care and stay safe
Love Annette
