Hello Everyone
Well, Spring has sprung. Last week I spoke about our visit to some old haunts in Toowoomba. It was so lovely we went back again last weekend. This time I did have an appointment to fulfil, but once again we were in awe of the Toowoomba Spring.
We enjoyed lunch at my sister Lesley’s place at Highfields and her husband Rob, who is such a proud garden person. They have a large block, but there is not a blade of grass or a trimmed hedge or tree out of place. He works hard, but he gets the results.
After a yummy lunch, I spent the afternoon at a course on Crystals for Energy Protection workshop. There were 6 of us there, and it was quite an interesting session. In fact, my other sister Dianne was not ready to come home at 5 p.m., and I had to remind her that John and I still had the return trip to Brisbane ahead of us. I love the crystals – what they represent and what they can do for our health. I sleep with some under my pillow each night, and I have them in special places throughout the house. If any of you have the same interest would love to share a chat about them.
We learnt about the benefits of Selenite, Black Tourmaline, Flourite, Amethyst, Black Obsidian, Blue Kyanite, Jet, Smoky Quartz, Labradorite, Aqua Aura Quartz and Bronzite. I am really looking forward to learning more about the healing and health benefits of these Crystals. There was a lot of information to take in during the afternoon, and I loved spending time with the ladies.
Spring has certainly commenced with some beautiful days. It has been so great in Brissy I even convinced John we should plant some new lawn down a shady side of our house. It has been a continual problem. He took a little convincing, but by lunchtime, we were packing wet and muddy pads of Sir Walter into the very clean BMW. I could hear him groaning every time he put another pad in the car. So this afternoon was down on the hands and knees getting muddy. I'm sure it will be well worth it, and we will at least see a green Southern side to our house.
I did think that our social media ‘angel’ Kat, who is always chasing me for photos, would have enjoyed one of the pictures but decided not this time.
With Spring comes the early morning chatter of the birds. It is such a beautiful sound to wake to in the morning. It is incredible how nature simply knows. We live in an older area of Brisbane with lots of giant trees. So early mornings are a sing-song from the variety of birds we have in the district. For most, I am sure it is nesting time, and there is a lot of excitement as they look for partners. John is not too sure he loves them when the old kookaburra's startup at five each morning. I have to remind him not to be such a grump.
I must admit he is looking forward to Father's Day. The family have organised a special brunch at a lovely restaurant in Paddington. Then I'm sure there will be plenty of football to watch for him to enjoy the rest of his day.
So Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads – remember if you get brekky in bed and you spill a few crumbs, the more you wriggle, the more they will scratch. Enjoy all these precious moments.
Thought it appropriate to close with Adele Basheer message for September – Shine – you were born to shine, To reach for the Stars and follow your Dreams. To let your heart sing.
With a sea-saw…..remember to see the joy and beauty in each day as we travel towards an end to the lockdown and potential freedom to travel throughout our great country.
Until next week we send happy Spring Blessings.
Annette
