Hello Everyone
Must tell you today how important it is to go back and visit some of your favourite places. We did just that last Sunday. We drove to Toowoomba, called to collect Mum and headed off for a day of fun. Now Mum must have her morning coffee, so James Street Grocer in Mary Street as Mum's favourite was our first port of call for morning tea.
Such a lovely place – beautiful food, good tea and coffee and to top off the visit was their incredible array of spring flowers. Straight away it brought back memories of the many Carnival of Flowers celebrations we enjoyed while living in Toowoomba, and also reminded us that the Colour Spectacular for this year is only a few weeks away.
Spring is such a great time everywhere but especially in Toowoomba.
Before moving to Brisbane, we lived right on the very edge of the range and had the most amazing view of Table Top and the valley and in the front garden of our home was a giant liquid amber tree. This tree always heralded the seasons for us. It would lose all its foliage in winter, and it was like a miracle watching the little green buds, and then the green leaves appear to welcome Spring. This is something that I do miss in Brisbane, experiencing the seasons.
After morning tea, we headed west turning off at Kingsthorpe. The countryside looked a picture -a patchwork rug. Some beautiful green paddocks adjoined by some needing some moisture. As we meandered along the country roads, a sign came up Cooby Dam. "Hey, John we haven't been to Cooby for many, many years.” In fact when we started to recall it was almost 33 years since we visited one of our favourite picnic spots. A quick u-turn and we were on our way. We were all excited. There it was the Toowoomba Water Supply. If you haven't been, I can tell you it hasn't changed. The picnic spots are first class, and I'm sure they are well used when the weather is right. But once again, it was the colour that caught the eye. The golden Wattle Trees were all in flower and lined the sides of the road, and as we headed back towards Highfields and Cabarlah, there was an avenue of Wattle. I asked John to stop so I could get some photos. The colours are breathtaking, they are so beautiful.
Lunch was at the Colours of San Cris, Cabarlah. Once again, I was out taking photos. The owners here were also getting their colour ready in anticipation of the Spring Festivities with beautiful pots of colour dotted around the garden and the Jasmine all in bud ready to blossom.
After lunch, we chased avocadoes out Hampton way, and once we had a bag full, it was back to Toowoomba. The gardens at Picnic Point were taking a battering from the freezing westerly winds. Still, they are just budding and on their way to being magnificent in colour ready for September. The gardeners do such a wonderful job. The colour is already evident even though it is not in full bloom
Well done Toowoomba and if you haven't had the opportunity to visit Toowoomba in the Spring to admire the gorgeous parks and gardens during the Carnival of Flowers this may be the year to do so. The local council and community ensure the city is a blaze of gorgeous colour. It is a delight to see Mother Nature at her very best.
So Spring is the Colour Season and reminds us to have a colour update ourselves. Yes, it is time to have a look at what we have in our colour makeup and time to replenish or even update. I prefer to update. Colours change so regularly, and it is always so nice to be up with the current colours that are in vogue this season.
Our time spent in Toowoomba on Sunday even had me insisting I visit our local nursery to buy colour for our home. I have made some lovely pots of violas and English daisies much to John's annoyance, but I know deep down he really appreciates the beauty.
So girls check out your colours and if I can help with choice, give me a call. I am only ever a phone call away.
In fact, take a look at the bonus joining offer at the moment. The beautiful nude Eye Shadow Palette has just teamed up with the Nutri Rich Oil. It is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of being able to purchase your beautiful products at the best possible prices. Remember that V.I.P membership entitles you to a 20% discount on your products. I am happy to have a chat so that you can make an informed decision if this may be something that would benefit you.
As we say goodbye to August and winter this week and look forward to Spring and September, we send blessings to continue to enjoy these gorgeous blue skies as we notice the blossoms and budding of new foliage commencing on the trees.
Enjoy this special time of the year and until next week.
Take care and stay safe
