Hello Everyone
We loved our special day today. After a visit to the Orthodontist, we were off to the Darling Downs. Now from my recent blogs, you know very well that I am in the flower spirit. So why were we off to the Darling Downs? Yes, you guessed it. I was chasing more roses.
Early morning phone calls confirmed Nurseries in Pittsworth and Toowoomba had just what I wanted. Remember some months ago I – we – decided we would start growing roses again. We have not done this for years. But guess what? after today's shopping we have more than 20. I can't believe it. John also can't believe he keeps saying yes. But I reminded him when we arrived home that he did say no at the second nursery today. Mind you; I had already purchased six by that time.
It will be a busy weekend planting, potting and re-arranging. Decisions to be made which one will be best here, does this one need more sun, is this one getting too much water and so it goes. There is such a pleasant task ahead. I am a Librarian, so it is not so easy. John will be ripping the little bit of hair he has left. Poor guy – it is not so easy for him.
Now let’s go back to the start of today. We left Brisbane with the faith that we would be buying roses that would give us the pleasure of many blooms. Now, as we transplant them, we live in hope not knowing what will happen. Sure we have the faith, and we are going to give the roses the best chance to produce. They will be watered regularly, fertilised and we are even playing music to them. So now it is up to the bushes to flourish. I really can’t complain as the bushes we purchased early on are really doing well and I love looking at the blooms in the vases in the house as I communicate with you today. Love the quote – “A garden is a love song, a duet between a human being and Mother Nature.”
As we leave and move away from the roses. Think about the words faith and hope. Yes, we need both. I'm sure we all have faith. But how do we handle hope looking back at our recent lockdowns? We all had faith that our medical personnel would succeed and eradicate this deadly virus. But hope also played its part. I find myself asking at times “I hope they get on top of this latest cluster.” Joining with Faith the Hopes become High Hopes. We have them in the positive, and we find our thoughts are rewarded with positive results.
My question to you all in business is Faith and Hope the same? Certainly, always maintain your faith in what you are aiming for and if you have a Hope feeling, make sure it is a High Hope Feeling.
The recent Vogue magazine came out with a personal survey taking in Australia, Britain, Germany, Italy, Korea, India, Japan, Hong Kong, France, Greece, Holland, China, Brazil, Ukraine, Taiwan and Mexico. Their stories were all the same. They had faith, and when questioned by Hope, Faith won through.
One of the most beautiful stories I have heard over this virus period came from New York. The Governor Andrew Cuomo was full of Faith and Hope. Cuomo’s Faith and Hope and that of the New York people led to the resilience and strength that saw the city through what we all know was a real crisis.
Guess our message is to maintain our faith. Always have High Hopes, and I am sure you will be rewarded with the results you are seeking.
We send the blessing of Faith and Hope to each of you until next week.
Cheers Annette
