Hello Special People – let’s welcome this week with the wise words from Louise Hay –“ I Feel safe in the rhythm and flow of ever-changing life."
We trust that each of you has enjoyed a happy and healthy week.
We are having a week of exams here with the family. Mathilda, our granddaughter, is in Grade 12 and in a heavy week while the two boys, Jack and Will, are busy fitting in part-time work, study, tutoring, coaching, sport and, of course, the end result, the exam. I feel I am with them every minute. We endeavour to catch up each day to see how they are going, but at times, we get the feeling we are interrupting. We may be better off leaving them alone and waiting for this stressful period for them to finish. They do love talking with us, but I know their time is precious.
We are so looking forward to a great weekend. We are having our friends, Jan and Ray, down from the Sunshine Coast. I did mention last week the indoor plants were receiving some attention. I will pop in a few photos of the flowers and plants, as it is amazing what a little attention can do to make a difference. They are all very healthy and looking great.
I must admit John has an overloaded sick bay. Some of the new ones like to have some sun, so I have John in charge of putting them out each morning for their time in the sun and bringing them back in as soon as the temperature starts to drop in the afternoon. He is handling his new task quite well. Apart from the drop in temperature, we are still deciding with the possums who is going to win the battle. As I sit typing this blog, I can see the little ones in their sunshine hammock having a lovely sleep.
I love the flowers in the florist at the moment, with all the winter bulbs flowering and the commencement of the early Spring pansies. We are enjoying the decadent fragrance throughout the house.
So, a fun and busy weekend ahead. Out for dinners, a few Happy Hours, some 500 cards – girls V boys – some Rummy O, and I know lots of laughs. We love their company. Jan and I have been friends since school and worked in the bank together.
I believe we told you some time ago that our daughter Leisa and family lost their aged dachshund Sizzle. He was 18. But why I am mentioning it again is their other dog Violet is still missing him all day. She obviously misses him so much. She just sits and cries all day. It has been more than a month, and we still hear her. It is so difficult as she has always had her companion and is fine when the family are home, and she is with them, but as soon as she is on her own, she lets us know. Mind you, I think she may also be a little bit spoilt. The holidays are coming up shortly, so Leisa and Mathilda will take her to Yamba with them, and she loves the beach.
Next week we will talk a little about Artificial Intelligence. We watched the Four Corners session a couple of weeks ago, but in the last few days, it has come up regularly talking with family, friends and my current exercise Physiologist. I am just starting to educate myself; there is so much to learn – some good and some not-so-good. I was challenged listening to a Podcast this week – am I going to be on Team Create or Team Wait? Maybe each of you has some ideas and thoughts to share. Let's discuss a little further next week.
Maybe Robert K Cooper was sending us a message in this regard – "Never let the word 'impossible' stop you from pursuing what your heart and spirit urge you to do. Impossible things come true every day.
Until next week, take care, stay safe, keep warm and enjoy these beautiful blue winter skies.
Love Annette x
