Hello Special People – As we welcome June, Louise Hay sends us this message – I look for opportunities this month to express myself as who I really am: the beauty and joy of the Universe expressing and receiving. I rejoice in the truth of my being. I am energetic. I am spirit. I am the essence of love. I let my light shine brightly!
I trust you have all recovered from last night's thrilling State of Origin Match. We Queenslanders just do not give in. It is an excellent lesson for all of us, particularly our younger folk. It is not that it just happened last night. Over the years, we have done similar things. I loved coach Billy Slater's comment after the match when he was asked how this continues to happen "No, no, let's get this straight. It does not happen all the time, but we Queenslanders believe in sticking together, and while we continue this belief, we will continue to win the tough ones.” Slater is certainly proving how to bring players together and bring the best out of them playing as a Team.
I only saw the second half, but yes, I did get a little excited when we fought back to win. It takes enormous belief and courage to do what this team did with just 10 minutes to play. Even 'died in the wool' supporters like John would have been thinking it was all over when we had a player sent to the sin bin.
Before I leave the match last night, you may also love to hear the latest Podcast from our grandson Will and his friend Charlie as they interviewed Darren Lockyer and his business partner this week. I found the interview so apt to life today and the humble comments and wise words so appropriate. I will have Kat pop up the link for your convenience. Well worth the listen.
So enough about football. I am currently sorting out my indoor plants. The roses are doing great, so now the attention is indoors. I send the ones that are not doing well to sick bay for recovery. John laughs and says to me, "Once they go to sickbay, I never see them coming back!" He is right. We have so many in sickbay. I find it much easier to go out and purchase fresh replacements rather than bringing back the ones that are struggling.
The garden continues to challenge, though. Between the weather and the possums, I am not sure who is winning the battle. We had shade cloth over some of the plants to protect them from the possums. However, Mother Nature teaches survival. What did these clever possums do? They carried the shade cloth off the plants up the tallest tree to their nest, and what didn't reach the nest made hammocks for them to enjoy their daily sleep in the sun. How cheeky is that?
We continue with our Aqua yoga even though the weather is cooler, and today was our weekly visit to the gym. I am really enjoying the young student I am working with at the moment. He is making exercise fun. This morning he came up with the idea that John and I should do our balance exercise together. It was one foot in front of the other and throwing a ball to each other. Really hilarious as we tried to outdo each other. John was testing me, throwing the ball low and then high but never making it easy. However, it made no difference; I was equal to the task and clearly wanted to win. I called it Karma. Amazing how this law of the Universe continues to prevail.
We have been blessed with another busy and happy week, and we trust you also have and will leave you with Eckhart Tolle's message to ponder "Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance."
Sending love, take care and stay warm enjoying these gorgeous blue skies and winter days.
