Hello Special People
Welcome to 2024. Let's commence the year with a special message from Louise Hay. It is a new year – time for a fresh start! As we thank the last year for what it brought and taught us, we also release it and bring our attention to the present. The energy of 2024 is one of success. The seeds we planted several years ago are now ready – it is harvest time. We can accomplish big things. This is our year to achieve. Let's go for it! As Louise was so fond of saying, "Life loves you, and so do I."
We trust you all enjoyed a great Christmas and New Year. We had a rather wet one at Yamba, but it did not stop the celebrations. There were breaks in the weather, and we ventured to the beach. I did venture into the water. It was so beautiful and clear.
We were quite busy between Christmas and New Year. Mathilda wanted to come back to Brisbane for a lunch appointment, so Pa put his hand up and said he was happy to be the Uber driver. So, a trip back to Brisbane and then back to Yamba for New Year. Traffic seemed to vary depending on our travel times.
The focus now is on the all-important wedding when Mark and Amy tie the knot on January 20th at Howard Smith Wharf. They are extremely excited, and so are we. It started off being a small wedding, but Mark tells me numbers have grown bigger than "Ben Hur". The NZ grandchildren arrive next week, so there will be plenty of action in the coming weeks. In fact, the action never seems to stop in this household.
So, 2024 is starting with a boom, and the road ahead looks bright. We are very blessed to have our health. We fully understand life is fragile. Sadly, just prior to Christmas, we lost a dear friend in Sydney. Michael went to dinner with his wife Susan, came home and collapsed and died. He was only 71. We had been out to dinner with him just three weeks before. He was in Brisbane visiting his son, and we all enjoyed a fantastic evening at Sono at Portside. He looked so well, and John is finding it so hard to believe he is no longer with us.
Yes, the routine commences quickly, and I have just booked us both in for our Gym sessions at QUT. While I don't like these sessions, I know they are good for my health. John is looking forward to being back on the fitness trail. He had a little lull in the back half of 2023 and wants to tone up a little. It will be interesting to see how he feels on Friday and over the weekend.
With the family still on leave in Yamba, we are having both the boys for dinner each night, and of course, the washing seems to creep in as well. John is busy trying to vary the menu for them. Will is already back at work, and Jack is still on annual leave.
I just Love the following message also from Louise to close this week – As I begin this new year, I remind myself that life is very simple: What I give out, I get back. And whatever the question may be, love is the answer. Therefore, I make a commitment to myself to return to the basics and live consciously. I pledge to be highly aware of what I am thinking, making sure that all my choices support the new pathways I want to take this month. I start to note all the ways the Universe expresses how much it loves me. I am truly blessed and send love to each of you for the best year in 2024.
Love Annette
