Hello Special People
Happiness is…………..the big news in the French household this week. Our son Mark has announced his engagement to Amy Ricketts. I guess not really a surprise, as there has been talk of this happening for a while now. He took Amy to Noosa and surprised her with a gorgeous antique diamond ring dating back to the 1920s. A magnificent setting and diamond. They are extremely excited, and while they have not set a confirmed date for the wedding, we did get told to prepare for January. I am already on a campaign to lose a few kilos, so I look my best for what will be an extremely special occasion.
The exciting news to go with the engagements is that they are coming home from New Zealand to live in Brisbane. John and I are really excited about this, and their unit is only a couple of suburbs away. They are already in selling mode in New Zealand, so the homecoming is only a matter of weeks away.
What beautiful weather we are having here in Brisbane. Autumn is my favourite season. John is not so keen as we have so many trees losing their leaves. I tell him that is what Autumn is about – the changing landscape. One of my favourite holidays was in America. It was an Autumn Fall tour, and the colour of those trees on the East Coast was something that we will never forget. John just has to adjust to the job of raking the leaves.
This is something that I do miss about Toowoomba as we had the most gorgeous liquid Amber in the garden in the front of our house, and the Autumn colours, as the leaves changed and eventually dropped, were spectacular. Just as beautiful was the heralding of spring with the tiny new green leaves opening their eyes.
We enjoyed a quiet Easter. Jack and Will joined us for lunch on Good Friday. The boys love their fish, and it was great to see them head off to Yamba with a satisfied tummy. Our trip to the Races on Saturday did not get off the ground, and John's horse ran accordingly. Sunday was full of celebration, with Mark announcing the engagement. We were fortunate to have Dianne, Lesley, and their husbands here for lunch to share the excitement and celebrations with us
We trust that you and your family and loved ones also enjoyed the happiness of the Easter break and will close today with this message from David Meltzer – Faith is a GPS that will not only reroute you when you lose your way, it will take you to a better destination.
Wishing each of you the blessings of peace, health and happiness
Love Annette
