Hello Special People
Oh, my goodness, can you believe we are already in the third week of April?
We trust that you are all enjoying this brilliant weather. I think I have commented previously that this is my favourite time of the year. I am really enjoying the days and especially the cooler nights. When I say that, I have made an exception for last Monday night. In the middle of the night, our house alarm went off. It gives you the biggest fright in the middle of the night, and the noise was deafening. John investigated and went back to bed, but I was so disturbed I was up for hours. There were no worries, but it does make you nervous. What caused it? Who knows? John's theory is a gecko lizard crawled in front of the sensor and maybe he is right. The alarm sensors are so sensitive that they do not take much to activate.
The alarm activation, though, is rather insignificant to what happened later in the week. Leisa, Craig, Jack, Will and Mathilda lost one of their precious dachshunds. Sizzle was almost 17 and passed away peacefully on Tuesday night in his sleep. John and I are missing him just as much as his immediate family. They had nursed him for quite a while. He had diabetes, was hard of hearing and, in his later months, was totally blind. It was magic to watch him find his way around. The family still have Violet, who also will miss her mate Sizzle. Not sure if Sizzle will be replaced. With the children all grown up, I think Leisa may be content to settle with Violet. Sizzle was their first family pet and a gentle, loyal friend to us all. He will be greatly missed, especially his partner in crime, Miss Violet.
Mark and Amy have almost concluded selling up in New Zealand, so it will not be long before they will be setting up here in Brisbane with us. You can hear the joy in Mark's voice each time we talk to him. He and Amy are so looking forward to coming home.
We are back in full training here in our household. Aqua Yoga three times a week and our weekly hour with the QUT students at the Gym. Now that it is a bit cooler, we have also commenced having a walk on the days we don't have a scheduled session. There are nights when I say to John, "I feel pretty weary tonight." He just smiles and says well, "We are doing a fair bit of exercise, and it does make you tired." His solution is we go to bed earlier, but I love to be able to watch a lovely movie to relax at the end of the day, so I guess I will have to suffer the effects of our rigorous exercise program.
I love this message from Robin Williams to close for this week; - Be kind to unkind people…they need it the most.
We send the blessing of peace, health and happiness to each of you and thank you for your kind feedback on our blogs as we share our week with you all.
Love Annette x
