Every year gives us wonderful opportunities for a fresh start. The days ahead will be different from any others that we have lived. It is up to you to decide what energy you want to bring from the previous year…..and what energy needs to be released. Are you ready to walk into a beautiful, bright future?
Affirmations allow us to see the world as a helpful and supportive place. After reading a statement, take a moment to let the truth of it into your heart. Allow joy to permeate your entire body – and your day. Remember, in the words of Louise Hay– "Life loves you, and so do I."
I have been doing a fair bit of decluttering in the past couple of weeks. You know, cleaning out the office ready for a fresh start in the New Year. It is interesting what you find. One little gem was some old articles about successful women. Of course, amongst these great women is the wonderful Imelda Roche and how I loved reading how she reached the top. I have read it so many times. What a remarkable couple Imelda and Bill are. So modest but not afraid to tell how they were like so many of us – on struggle street – when they sought out their new venture Nutrimetics. They built luxury offices and distribution centres in all capital cities starting from their own home. At the same time, their headquarters at Balmain in Sydney was a picture postcard. I remember someone saying, "Behind every apricot wall, there is a postcard setting, Nutrimetics. Bill and Imelda built the company into Australia's most successful skincare company. And after they conquered Australia and New Zealand, they did what they did best and took their all-natural skincare range to take on the world. It is a wonderful story and one that has inspired not only me but so many people. I will always be so appreciative and grateful.

The other story that caught my eye once again was that of Toowoomba's leading lady, Mary Wagner. What a person. Like the Roche's, Mary and her husband Henry started from scratch. Their love of Toowoomba is unfounded. I am sure most of you know how strong and remarkable the Wagner Company is today. However, the real story of Mary Wagner is her love of charity and for helping those in need. The one thing that stood out to me was the philosophy of both Imelda and Mary was to help other people. And isn't it amazing how this has worked for so many? Mary went back to nursing – her career when she was first married – after her husband died. She didn't have to, but she knew that was a wonderful way of helping and reaching out to people in need.
You read these stories, and you straight away realize why these people became so successful. They deserve the recognition they continue to receive but knowing how humble they both are, I know they could live without it.
As we discuss these two extraordinary ladies above, it highlights another awesome lady, Louise Hay, who sends us the January quote – "The energy of this month is optimism. Every choice I make is a stepping stone along the path to the wonderful future that I am creating for myself. I let go of the negative energy of the past and become a 'now' person. I welcome each day with open arms.
