Hello Special People
Yep – I love and approve of myself through all the ups and downs of my life. All is truly well in my world. Thanks, Louise
Last week, I spoke about how busy our up-and-coming weekend was going to be and how busy it was.
Friday night was off to "The Wolf", a beautiful restaurant in Anzac Square in the city's heart. A gift voucher from the family. It was our first time there, and I know we will be back there before too long. The food was superb, the staff very, very attentive, and, of course, the wine topped off a most enjoyable evening. If you are in the city and looking for somewhere to dine for lunch or dinner, I would love to suggest you give the restaurant a try.
Saturday was a little mixed day. First, we had to go to organize our TV set up. We have been a Telstra TV customer, and of course, Telstra TV has decided they are closing at the end of the month. So, we are taking their recommendation and taking on a new company called Fetch. Really, it is all beyond me. All I want is Netflix and they have assured me I will be able to transfer Netflix across to the new system. The new system is not connected yet. We have the new box but are still waiting to program it on our TV. I'll keep you posted on how we go. The new system was collected from Telstra and then it was off to Aqua Yoga. It was relaxing and just what I needed after a session with Telstra.
Sunday was the big day. Church first up, and then we were off to Forest Hill to celebrate my younger Sister's birthday. Once again, the time spent with family at lunch is always fun, with lots of laughs. We enjoyed a bottle of “Peggy” Sav Blanc with memories of Mum to top off the celebrations.
We then added a little of business watching the launch of the Christmas Launch and then a quick change and off to the “Turning on of the Lights” for the beginning of the “Awareness of Homeless Week.” Our Coffee Brigade drew the first night, so being part of the group under the Storey Bridge was important and rewarding when the Blue and White lights were turned on to officially open the Awareness of Homeless Week.
We joined a group of 20 to 30, and the committee made it a special occasion, making it a Pizza night. It was such a special evening. We met so many other folks who volunteer to make sandwiches just as we do. John and I made our way to Captain Burke Park by the City Cat and then the Kitty Cat ferries. It was ideal. No worries about parking and so relaxing on the ferries. It took the hassle out of the evening. The Bridge looked beautiful, and we had great views as we came away on the ferry to the other side of the river. Home to a warm shower and off to bed after a long day. We left for church at 7.45 am and arrived home at 8 pm. A long and, happy and rewarding day with a mixture of celebrations.
Yes, Breaking News:- We have just received an email inviting us to make an appointment to go and have a look for an initial inspection at our new home at “Rivello”. Finally, we are going inside. Very Exciting. John has just opened a special bottle of wine to celebrate. It is great news. So, the next shift may not be too far away. I am looking forward to seeing the finished product. Will have more news and maybe some photos next week."
I guess our week once again encompassed our family and the basics of day-to-day living, for which we are truly blessed. Yes, like most of you, we handle the speed bumps and detours but continue to give thanks, appreciation and gratitude for the lifestyle we are blessed to enjoy.
We trust that each of you has enjoyed a similar week, and we thank you most sincerely for your lovely comments and feedback as we share our week with each of us. Adele Basheer reminds us of - Magic Moments – A calm mind endures, A loving heart forgives, A mindful heart knows, and A joyful heart glows.
Sending love and hugs
