Hello Special People
Reflecting on this last week, I trust that each of you was blessed with a happy and healthy week.
I was certainly blessed with a beautiful Mother's Day to kick the week off. It was face-to-face with Mark for the first time in more than 30 years. We had such a lovely day. John arranged breakfast in bed, lunch with Leisa and family and then joined Mark and Amy for a delicious dinner in the evening. Mother’s Day is so special. I reflect and think about the very special Mothers who have made such a difference to the world and to our individual lives. Some were not even childbearing Mothers but, in fact, were a mother to so many.
While so many amazing women come to mind, my first thoughts lean towards Mother Teresa, Louise Hay and Florence Scovel Shinn. Another lady very close to my heart is Imelda Roche. Imelda, the founding owner of Nutrimetics, was my business mother when I joined the company. Her 'motto' was to help women help other women to succeed. Imelda did that for so many. She was an outstanding person and had four children of her own. I recall at one of her milestone birthdays having one of the politicians make a comment – "There have been a lot of successful women in Australia but not a lot of successful women who have been responsible for the success of so many other women. "
It would certainly be remiss not to mention our Darling Mothers' kindness, humbleness, dedication, courage, strength and unconditional love and support. It has not become easier over the years, and I found myself quite teary yesterday morning thinking of Mum. Still, we were blessed with so many treasured memories over her 97 years. Her legacy and mentoring will continue to live and guide us through our future generations.
We enjoyed our outing to the Lions on Saturday night along with 32,000 fans, and we are off to our second match of the season on Saturday. It could be a big Saturday. John has a couple of horses from his syndicate racing and is very keen to go to the races to watch them run.
To top off the week, we had a lovely few days at the Sunshine Coast with Lesley and Rob. Our time together was not long enough. It was so much fun to just relax for a few days. We have had so many busy weeks of late, and I was looking at my diary this morning, and there are more busy weeks ahead, so it was nice to go for lunch each day, and the boys took us for a couple of lovely sightseeing drives. While rain was predicted, the weather was kind to us. We love being at Cotton Tree and love the Italian Restaurant at Bokarino, which I can recommend.
Wishing each of you a happy and healthy week, remembering – You deserve the love you keep giving to everyone else!
Love Annette
