Hello Special People
Welcome to November. “ What a wonderful learning year this has been. I am grateful for all the wisdom that Life continues to bring to me. I express gratitude often, and I look for things to be thankful for every day this month.” Louise Hay
It will never cease to amaze me what can be done through social media. I know I am old school, but when I did my daily check on Facebook yesterday, this is what greeted me. Facebook had put together this video of our holiday in Queenstown. Simply amazing how they do it. Just from a collection of photos posted while we were away. So beautifully done. I was so excited John received an urgent call to the office. He was amazed and excited as well and came up with the idea to save it. Now that was a challenge, but with a little help for our:" Angel" I was able to do so. So, the memories will be with us forever. It was a great holiday, and my heartfelt thanks goes out to Facebook for this wonderful surprise. We hope you also enjoy this quick overview
I have returned home from a beautiful pedicure, a gift from my wonderful friend in Perth, Michelle, who acknowledged my birthday with a Stephanie's voucher at the Sofitel hotel. It was such a decadent treatment, and I told John I needed to do it more often. No Reply!!!! It is a big beauty day today. The hairdresser is this afternoon. It seems to take more time these days for the “oil and grease" to keep the body ship shape. I have promised John a glass of wine and cheese board at a new Wine Bar next to the Hair Salon in recognition of his chauffeur duties today. This is also a gift from the family for my birthday so feeling rather blessed today.
On a not so brighter note, it was a week of specialist appointments for both of us. John had the eye specialist and is booked in to have cataracts removed from both eyes, along with a visit to the specialist to explain why he needs to move his next colonoscopy, previously booked for five years, back to three years. New government recommendations. I had the dermatologist, and unfortunately, she found a nasty BCC on the side of my nose. Not a great place, and it needs specialized attention. So, I guess some day surgery is looming, but no dates at this stage. I have been referred to a specialist who performs Moh’s surgery to ensure that the smallest incision happens. Then a plastic surgeon attends to the closure. As I have regular dermatologist checkups every six months, hopefully, it has been identified before too much damage has been done. It just amazes me how busy these specialists are here in Brisbane. The receptionist, after my appointment, was doing the follow-up appointments in 2024. She asked would a Wednesday in mid-October 2024 be suitable. My reply, "I don't have anything in the diary for that day at this stage."
John had a mixed week with his horses. A first starter Maroon Magic showed some real form to win on debut, but the older fellow Hot Spring Gold looked tired and ran that way last Saturday. He has been in work for 30 weeks, so he has earnt a few months in a paddock on the farm. The Larrikin is back in action this Saturday at Doomben.
So, like all families, life happens, and we are grateful that we have the opportunity for the best specialists to look after our health. We hope that you and your loved ones have also enjoyed a happy week. Lets’s close today with this happy message from Adele Basheer – “Better Together – When we respect each other’s uniqueness, we are able to sparkle in each other’s light.”
We send the blessings of peace, health and happiness to each of you for a fantastic week.
Love Annette x
