Hello Special People
How did you all fare in the rain last weekend? Our thoughts are with those who didn't do so well. John and I were at the Sunshine Coast, and it certainly was not beach weather. The rain did not let up until Sunday lunchtime. So, it was an indoor weekend. We were with friends, so we reverted to playing 500. Girls against the boys and the girls won the series in the last game on Sunday morning. We put the boys out the backdoor after John thought he was clever calling nine clubs. He didn't get past square one. I love those weekends with friends, and as we reminisced, we worked out that we had been getting together for 16 years.
Home this week and a busy one. Christmas has arrived, and the orders are plentiful. People love our Christmas brochure, and many are using it to shop for the entire family. Such a convenient and easy way to Xmas shop without all the hassles of parking and crowds.
Exercises were a torture again this week, but John came up with his caption to remind me of "Hussle for the Muscle" Annette. Yes, we need to keep going. How does the saying go – move it or loose it!!! So, it is creaks and sore day today; however, I will be back there next week. Our internal stairs are the telling point of sore muscles.
I remind myself – “Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” John Wooden
John's luck with his horses continues, with Larrikin Rogue scrapping home by the narrowest of margins yesterday. We went over to the Broncos to watch the race, and when we arrived, we found the TAB did not open until 4 p.m. John was happy just to watch the race without a bet, but then a kind lady offered to show him how to operate the betting machines. It appeared simple, but you should have seen this machine gobble up the money. So, money on and cheering began. The Larrikin always gets left at the barrier, and he did it again, making his task even harder. But he flashed home with the pair of us riding him home. John brought the lady a wine for her help. She was excited that she had helped to back a winner.
Our garden loves these hot sunny days, and the star jasmine along the fences at the front looks so beautiful. I will have Kat pop up a recent photo. The plumbago on the bank is all in bud, as are all the gardenias. The fragrance is divine when walking outside in the early morning and in the early evening. It is extremely hot and humid here in Brisbane today. After the recent rain, our Murraya hedges have gone crazy. We are hoping our hedge man can come to the rescue today.
For all you movie lovers out there, we went to see Mrs Harris goes to Paris last night. What a delightful movie. I asked John after the movie did you enjoy the movie, and his comment -was: "It is so nice to go to see movies like that again”.
I will leave you this week with today's quote from Louise Hay.
" I remind myself each morning that I can choose to feel good throughout the day."
We trust that each of you, your families and your loved ones have all enjoyed a happy and healthy week and until next week, take care and stay safe.
Love Annette
