Hello Special People
We have literally just walked in from attending our Nutrimetics Conference on the Gold Coast. We may need a few days to recover and sort ourselves. There are lots of good things happening company-wise, and of course, there was too much celebrating. Dinners and Cocktail Parties every night, and we both commented on the way home that the late nights were catching up with us.
We were very blessed on behalf of all our team to receive our 29th Million Dollar year trophy. It was very special. We have a real attitude of gratitude for what Nutrimetics means to us, and as much as we appreciate the company, I know the appreciation bounces back from the company. A great long-term partnership.
We did feel very proud, and it had me thinking about the pride I pursued. Pride works from within: it is the direct appreciation of oneself. Arthur Schopenhauer.
Pride, like all emotions, has two faces: one healthy and one sick. It is our challenge to use the healthy side well. Sick pride fills us with ourselves, looks down on others, and has no room for generosity. Healthy pride is heavy with humility. If we can feel joyful when we succeed, and tell others about it honestly, we are not being boastful.
Healthy pride about our greatest victories always comes with the awareness that we did not do it all by ourselves. We had the aid, advice, and encouragement of loved ones. In all things that really count, we never walk alone. Even those who claim pride is not a virtue admit that it is the parent of many virtues.
So, there was lots of excitement on the awards evening with a number of folks just commencing their business journey and many of our friends who have been with Nutrimetics for a similar time as John and I receiving awards. Maybe it's the excitement that saps my energy (certainly would have nothing to do with that extra glass of bubbles!!!)
Prior to conference, we were honoured to be invited to the official opening of the brand-new premises of the Coffee Brigade. We have been making sandwiches for this organization for many years now. They deserve these very modern new premises. There is lots more space, and John can now spread out when he is putting his bundle of sandwiches together. The Coffee Brigade certainly has a lot of volunteers, and it was nice to catch up and meet people who are doing the same as us but on a different day. It is testimony to the need when you consider Louisa Toogood commenced this service over 50 years ago, and it is still operating with an even bigger need today. We all enjoyed a beautiful morning tea, and Brisbane's Lady Mayoress handled the official opening. She is a very accomplished speaker and did the whole presentation without a note.
We trust you have all fared well with the storms this week. We were fortunate not to have hail and just plenty of rain. John was quickly onto the phone to check home once he heard that a lot of our colleagues at the conference had messages from home that they had received hail. Thankfully we were all ok.
As we were away on Monday, we missed our weekly gym session, so we were off to the gym early this morning. As I mentioned, I was lacking energy, so I can tell you it was a pretty slow session for me today and this afternoon, really feeling the effects. Tomorrow and Saturday, we are back to our aqua yoga classes in an endeavour to redeem those extra glasses of bubbles and the yummy desserts over these last few days.
I hope you have enjoyed our latest blog, and we thank you for all your kind comments and feedback.
We wish each of you a happy and healthy week. Take care and stay safe
Love Annette
