Hello Special People – as I type this week’s blog, we hope you are all enjoying Australia Day.
What does Australia Day mean to us? On Australia Day, we celebrate all the things we love about Australia: land, sense of fair go, lifestyle, democracy, the freedoms we enjoy and particularly our people.
Australia Day is about acknowledging the contribution every Australian makes to our contemporary and dynamic nation. From our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have been here for more than 65,000 years, to those who have lived here for generations, to those who have come from all corners of the globe to call our country home.
John and I were up bright and early this morning, making sandwiches for our homeless people. We are blessed to think we have the opportunity to do something that was helping those in trouble to have a celebration on this special day. John always gets right into the spirit of Australia Day.
After making sandwiches, he was home for a hearty breakfast and then into making the Damper for morning tea. It is his tradition. He sits down for morning tea with his damper, butter and the good old Golden Syrup. Not sure we need it as we try to shed a few kilos, but there is no stopping the Damper man. I did join him for a slither, and yes, it did get a pass mark. I almost forget we do have Waltzing Matilda playing as well. No great plans for the rest of the day. Maybe a movie after lunch, and I might challenge John to a couple of our board games before Happy Hour. No doubt it will be bubbles with the cheese and biscuits today.
Oh my gosh, it is extremely hot in Brisbane today. Not sure it would be ideal for all those enjoying a picnic. They would certainly need plenty of sunscreen.
It has been a busy week again. We are right back into our usual routine. The exercise every day is working, and I am not having the serious soreness I suffered after returning to the QUT Gym. We enjoyed our Jump Into January training evening with Louise and Adam on Monday evening out at Newport. It bought back so many memories. It was just our Getting started day all over again. Adam was celebrating his new Townhouse at Newport and combined it with the training session for us all to enjoy. It was a special occasion. Adam's first entry into the housing market, and he has chosen well. At such a young age, it is such a pleasure to see the introduction into the market and perhaps investment.
I have just finished listening to Will and Carlie's podcast for this week. Oliver Baker, the CEO of Hydralyte. He talks about leading the expansion of Swisse through the US and Canada along with the company's influencers and recent deal with Shay Mitchell. This was another diverse and yet extremely interesting interview by the boys as he discussed the difference in marketing in Australia, US and Canada. I am so enjoying each of the interviews.
Well, Mr John has the TV happening, checking out the Netflix programs, so time to join him.
May the celebration of Australia Day fill our hearts, souls and homes with happiness and smiles to enjoy forever and ever. Happy Australia Day.
Sending the blessings of peace, health and happiness to each of you this week.
Love Annette
