Hello Special People.
Happy Easter to you all. It's so nice to see the sunshine, so I am sure we will enjoy our break. Easter is a very special time of the year. Lots to think about and show our respect to what happened all those years ago.
It also gives us time to breathe and catch up with friends and family. The four-day break is a blessing. I know from experience this past week in particular. Gosh, it has been so busy. Lots happening business-wise, lots of running around stocking up for Easter and two adult grandchildren relying on meals from Grannie while their parents are away on leave. While I am ready for the break, it has all been enjoyable. The two boys are really maturing, and we had lots of fun playing 500 after dinner on Monday night. Mind you, they are so busy with life in general and their sport, so there was always a time frame for meals which kept John, and I busy and on our toes.
However, we would not want for anything more. They are both hilarious, and we have wonderful conversations about the world and what is happening. Their general knowledge astounds us.
I also had packing to do and, of course, the inevitable "try ons", which John finds most amusing.
While things were busy, they were moving along nicely. Just to test us, the washing machine and the dishwasher both decided they had had enough. The repair guy reported that it was better to replace than try to fix the problems, so after our shopping expedition, we had the new machines delivered this afternoon. So, I guess you will all agree it has been a busy week at Red Hill. Shopping for the new appliances was an eye-opener and fun. When we asked if we could have them delivered prior to Easter, the salesman really smiled. Still, he gave us exceptional service, and they were delivered this afternoon.
So, we were back in business. (So we thought) - I finished a spot of ironing and walked to the laundry to put the iron away when I was ankle-deep in water. Without going into all the fun and games from here – 20 drenched beach towels later and very good service from where we purchased the appliances along with a very kind after-service repair guy we found the washing machine had not been set up to accommodate our strong water pressure and had burst the hose. Oh my goodness, what a mess. We had wet mats, carpets, and water just everywhere. Fortunately, it was clean, clear water, but still, all had to be mopped up. We are still trying to get the towels dry along with the wet carpets and mats, which we will attend to when we come home.
Life can certainly throw us some curve balls at times. However, my partner here just takes it all in his stride and says to me that we will leave tomorrow as planned and handle whatever after Easter when we return. My sisters and husbands are already in Sydney, so it will be great to be able to spend quality time together over the break.
There are still quite a few jobs to be done before bed tonight, so will close now as we wish you all the Blessings of a very happy and safe Easter break. Take care and stay safe if you are travelling on the roads.
Maybe Louise Hay sent this message especially for me – “I have the power, strength, and knowledge to handle everything in my life.”
Love Annette
