Hello Special People. Well, how was your Easter Break?John and I headed off to Sydney to spend time with my two sisters and their husbands. We drove down, sharing the driving and enjoying our time in the car. It reminded me of our early days in Nutrimetics when we used to go on Country runs. The time in the car gives you the opportunity to catch up and make a few decisions on things you could be doing better. John reminded me that, in fact, it was on a car trip that the Board meeting was held, and he became Managing Director. I reminded him that that didn't last for long!!!!!
Out to lunch enjoying the "Peggy Wine". Mum was with us in spirit.
We had a great time in Palm Beach, Sydney. Lots of laughs, lots of fun playing board games, swimming, and generally reacquainting ourselves with Sydney's surrounds and lifestyle. It was the first time the six of us have stayed in the same house, and after Sydney, I am sure it won't be long before we do it again. Maybe somewhere closer. But I know Sydney will be on the agenda again. Palm Beach is a special venue.
We had not been to the neighbouring suburbs of Newport or Avalon or Churches Point before. Most impressive. There is something about the water. I love having it near me. Where we stayed at Palm Beach was my niece's holiday home. Set high on a hill, it overlooked the surf on one side and the Pittwater from the rear balcony. We watched the sunrise in the morning and sat and watched it set in the afternoon, and as you all know, the sun and moon are at their peak during the Easter period. So beautiful, and the weather was amazing. Such a magnificent setting, and I am sure we will be using it again. Megan, our niece, now lives in Boston and loves the family members looking after her prized possession.
The break was the ideal answer to the stress of the washing machine and dishwasher blowing up in the week prior to going away. I am sure I mentioned the new washing machine blew a hose and completely flooded our downstairs area of the house the afternoon before we left. We had to leave wet carpets etc., not knowing what we would come home to, but fortunately, the water was clean water, and everything appears to be fine. I was certainly ready for the break. Life can certainly throw some curveballs when we least expect them.
With the cool change in the air since we were away, it has been the ideal time to commence our soups for lunch. I have made some yummy chicken and vegetable, and today have red cabbage and winter vegetables simmering ready for lunch. I love how easy it is to type to Mr Google and ask him the best recipe for whatever and the choices that pop up. I look at all my beautiful Margaret Fulton folders with delicious recipes along with my folders of recipes from all the different cooking classes and still find myself doing that quick Mr Google search that always comes up with the ‘goods’.
I have enjoyed sharing our Easter news with you all, and thank you for your lovely comments. We trust that each of you have also enjoyed a special easter period with your loved ones. So, until next week, we send our blessings of peace, health and happiness. “Precious moments belong to you – Our greatest joys spring from the laughter, tears and love we share, Life’s precious moments.” ~Adele Basheer
