Hello Special People
Let’s commence with Our November message from Louise to start this month.
"I make this a month of thanksgiving, as I have so much to be thankful for! I have a fabulous life and accept with joy, pleasure, and appreciation all the good the Universe offers me. I feel especially grateful for the harmony and unconditional love my loved ones and I share. I take the time to breathe deeply and count my blessings as often as possible, ensuring that gratitude is woven throughout the tapestry of my life."
Well, we are fresh from a weekend away. It was our weekend with our friends at Caloundra. Jan and Ray have just moved into their new unit and sent an invitation to come visit. Gary and Sue, our former neighbours from Toowoomba, joined us. It was a party weekend. Lots of fun, plenty of yummy food and a few drinks in between. Oh! I almost forgot the card game. Maybe I didn't want to mention the cards as we girls did not do so well. It is not too often that the boys win, but they were in good form this time. It's great to catch up with treasured friends.
How did you all fare in the Melbourne Cup? It certainly was not my day. John tells me I finished last after leading for a big part of the race. John makes a big day of the Melbourne Cup. He has the TV on at 9 am and watches every race and then really gets excited when it is Cup time. He was disappointed with the Channel 9 coverage. He loved the fact the Brisbane jockey rode the winner. He has had him ride some of his syndicate horses. He will probably want him on all his horses in the future.
We are so blessed here in our unit that we are able to watch the school rowing teams conducting their morning sessions. I take my hat off to them. Their dedication is beyond belief. Boats in the water at 5 am, back at 7 am to 7.30 am, and then off to school. It is not just one day a week it is every day. A tough sport enjoyed by so many.
Not a lot of news on our new unit. We were over for a quick look on Friday. Lots of new grass was planted, and there seemed to be plenty of work being done in the garden areas. The onsite managers sent a detailed email this week introducing themselves and providing a list of services where they can help. We are looking forward to catching up with their staff face-to-face. At this stage, we are not sure when this will happen.
In contrast, it is a busy week unit-wise here at Auchenflower. The lift is being serviced, and a special fire door inspection is being performed. They have promised the lift will only be out of action for an hour, so I think we can plan to stay at home and wait for it to be completed. Certainly not keen on using the stairs. John said he should have quoted for the Fire Door inspection. He claims it would be an easy job and easy money. They can't let go these Fire Safety Officers!!!!
Off to Aqua Yoga at lunchtime. John is still not getting into the water with his injured thumb. So, he has become the Uber driver. He managed the gym session on Monday and has been complaining about how sore he is ever since. We are both looking forward to our monthly massage on Thursday. I am sure Heather will seek John's sore spots. Age does not assist with our healing, and my wrist is still quite tender. I am still not sure if I should be using it or resting it.Being here in the unit has stretched us both in the social media scene. After losing Telstra TV and having to revert to a new program, Fetch, we have managed to now receive both 7 and 9 Free-to-air channels. We were both quite chuffed that we handled the installation. Much the same with our music selection connecting the Bluetooth, speaker and Spotify. John has handled this well, and we are currently enjoying his favourite artist, George Ezra. `
Once again, our week centred around our friends and home life. We trust that each of you and your families have also enjoyed a happy and healthy week. I leave you this week with the November message from Adele Basheer: "Let your Soul Rise – Listen to the sound of your soul. Trust in your intuition. You are your own best fortune teller."
Sending the blessings of peace, health and happiness
Love Annette xx
