Hello special People
In our busy day-to-day lives, we thought this saying was worthy of consideration. "We are not our feelings. We just experience them. Anger. Sadness, hate, depression, fear. This is the rain we walk in. But we don't become the rain. We know the rain will pass. We walk on. We remember the soft flow of the sun that will come again."
How is all the rain affecting your life? We have certainly had enough here in Brisbane. Guess what? It affected our Mango Run on the weekend. Our organic lady was not there, and our second outlet at Cominya had no mangoes either. I think we have enough on hand to last this week, and hopefully, we will make one last run on Sunday to see if the supply is still available. The mango season is sure to end in the next few weeks, so I have my fingers crossed.
It was great to have Mathilda home from college on Monday. She enjoys College life but admits she finds the University way of learning somewhat different. I think she is a little nervous of getting left behind. However, I assured her she has a couple of brothers to fall back on if she becomes bogged down with her studies.
John and I enjoy finding new venues in our local area, and this week, we tried Archer Brewery in Newmarket Road, Wilston. It is just a few minutes from home, and we did not know it existed until we met Chris, the brewer, at our Aqua Yoga class. Such a great guy who gave us a tour of the Brewery when we arrived on Friday and a bit of history of the building they chose. I loved the old plane wings they included for the Bar Counters. They were from an old Ansett plane, and Chris was excited that we were both old enough to remember Ansett. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we visited again on Sunday afternoon for their special afternoon music session.
Friendship is just another benefit of exercise. Yesterday, we enjoyed a special invitation from Margaret, one of the ladies we met at Aqua Yoga at her beautiful unit in Ascot. She had prepared such a lovely spread. John supplied the wine, and it was a most enjoyable afternoon. She is by herself so I am sure we will have more get-togethers. Next time, it will be here at Red Hill. We certainly would not have met either Chris or Margaret if we were not members of our Aqua Yoga classes.
Speaking of exercise, this morning was our first session with our new students, who are on their first assignment of their final year. I had such a lovely young girl who was so nervous. It gave me a completely different outlook on exercises. I asked her why she was so nervous, and her response – I just want you to like me, and I want to be able to help you. It brought tears to my eyes. No further complaining about exercises. Realizing how much we are supporting and assisting in the growth and development of these students filled my heart. I am looking forward to working with Tassie to ensure that she receives good marks for her assignment while helping her build her confidence for a great start in her final year.
Our open houses continue each week. One session mid-week and one session on a Saturday. We were amazed at just how little an area you need to live in your home. As we want to keep everything presented as the stylist has prepared, we are managing to live in a more confined area of our home. It has been good training for our move to the unit, where we will certainly have much less room.
Love the message from Louise to close today – "I choose to stretch beyond where I was when I got up this morning. I am ready to open myself to something new." As we share our week with you all, we also thank you for your calls and feedback for sharing your similar family experiences with us. We love to hear from you.
We send blessings of peace, health and happiness from our home to your homes.
Cheers Annette X
