Hello Special People
"I open new doors to life. I celebrate what I have, but I know that fresh experiences are always ahead of me." Louise Hay. I thought this message was apt as I sat to pen our blog for this week with our house selling high on the agenda. Open house over the weekend so it will be interesting to see how many people are showing an interest in living in Red Hill.
Just a little trivia in regards to the house selling. At lunch, I said to John I was going to do…. And he said ok, I will continue (fitatating), and I said, what are you going to do. He repeated what he was going to do, and I said, what is that? He said, what the word you said to the agent yesterday was – I said oh (titafating). I'm not sure if either is a word in the dictionary, but I think you will enjoy the smile.
As you can imagine, this week has been busy making sure everything is ready for people to visit. In fact, I must admit I am exhausted. Last night, I was ready for bed at 8.30, which is not like me at all. I am a night owl and normally do not go to bed until I have seen a movie or several episodes of a series. However, last night, I gave in very easily. John could not believe it.
We both have a love of mangoes. We were able to enjoy some local yummy ones from a roadside stall on one of our trips home from Toowoomba, so the past couple of weekends have involved drives up into the Lockyer and Brisbane River valleys. We were lucky both weekends. Cominya at first and Fernvale last Sunday. Very delicious both lots. It was interesting that on our first outing, the mango farms along the Gatton-Esk road had not even shown any sign they were ready to pick. Yet, a week later, the trees were bare. Amazing how they cleared so many trees in just seven days.
While our new unit at Portside is taking forever to be completed, we are indeed fortunate to have an in-between unit ready for us. We had an inspection on Tuesday, and it is just gorgeous. In fact, it overlooks the river so will prepare us for our own unit on the river when it is finally ready. The river looked pretty muddy on Tuesday, but that is something I am sure changes from week to week. When we have had the amount of rain, we have had in the past month we have to expect a muddy river. The runoff would have been enormous. We will be able to watch the change, and when the sunny days return, we will have the sun glistening off the beautiful blue water. We both came home so excited with the prospect of our temporary new unit.
Of course, Aqua yoga and QUT exercise are on the agenda this week. It is good to get the body moving. John has been groaning with a few aches and pains, but he always comments on how he feels a lot more mobile after getting in there and moving his aching joints.
I felt very blessed at exercises this morning, with one of the head lecturers picking up that I was still struggling with my sore heel. I think I mentioned I injured the heel wearing stilettoes to Jack's graduation. The bottom line is that she is referring me to the Podiatry department as she mentioned from December to February, it is far too long; in fact, when I mentioned where the pain was now, she said it is actually getting worse. Just another appointment in the diary.
Nutrimetics have their annual conference this weekend and with our house commitments we will not attend the full conference but will head down to the coast in the morning for the senior meetings. It will be great to meet up with old and new friends again. Lots of new information from the company and of course lots of celebrating.
My daily reminder to close for today from Louise – I balance my life between work, rest, and play. They all get equal time. We send love and blessings to each of you and trust that you and your loved ones have also enjoyed a fulfilling week.
Annette xx
