Hello Special People
“I am at peace with the elements of nature. There is no 'good' or 'bad' weather. I can choose my individual reaction to it”.
Wise words from Louise Hay, but I must admit we certainly love those clear blue skies when we are at the beach.
This certainly reflected our day yesterday as we were able to mix some business with pleasure. John and I had a business appointment at the Gold Coast, and after it was over, we were able to have a yummy lunch at Burleigh Heads. Our grandson Will had spoken to us about the Qld Burleigh Pavilion sometime ago, so we took him on his word and sat and admired the amazing beach view along with the scrumptious food. It was such a pleasure, and it took away the memory of how bad the traffic was on our way down to the coast. Four lanes of traffic kilometre after kilometre bumper to bumper, travelling about 30km per hr. It was exhibition holiday here in Brisbane, and I think most of Brisbane must have headed to the coast to enjoy the glorious day.
Business and pleasure have always been part of our Nutrimetics journey. Right from our early days, we always ensured we celebrated our achievements. Even on our many journeys to country areas working, we always found time for pleasure once the business of the day was completed. I love this about the lifestyle the business affords us.
So, Sunday, we enjoyed our afternoon watching the Lions win over Carlton. Our seats were up in the clouds. It was great to be up high and looking down on the players. I m not sure I enjoyed all the steps it took to get us there, but it was a great view of the game. I am sure we will revisit the seats in the clouds. Actually, to be quite truthful, I find purchasing and selecting the seating quite a challenge. This online is great for the young ones, but I find it most challenging and happy when I have been able to book seats and then find our tickets on my phone. Tomorrow night, we will be pinned to the TV with the Lions in a very important game against ST Kilda. John continues to explain to me the importance of finishing in the top four. John and the grandsons have all been explaining about the Top 4 verse the Top 8. (Such a male thing of importance). Yep, I understand finishing in the four is better than the 8. John, along with the grandsons, loves every sporting code, and it is a pleasure listening to their conversations.
With our regular visits to the gym for exercise, I do have a newfound admiration for all elite athletes. Even our basic exercises were hard this week. We are both complaining about how sore we are. Hopefully, today's massage will soothe the muscles, and we can continue climbing the stairs without suffering. We both find the Aqua aerobics so much gentler on the body. While the exercises challenge you, it is quite different, and there doesn't seem to be as much complaining Friday and Saturday when these classes come up.
While I also loved my hockey and basketball in my younger days, the serenity and peace of the garden appeals more these days. How gorgeous are these roses this week? I love how their beauty radiates around the house.
As I mentioned, we are off for our monthly massages this afternoon. This is our treat of the month, enjoying the massage and then sitting on the deck overlooking the river. So decadent, and we feel so blessed to be able to enjoy this time to benefit our health.
I thought this message from Adele Basheer summed our week –“Let us be grateful for life's precious moments. Happiness begins with our gladness”. We trust that each of you have also enjoyed a happy week, and we send the blessings of peace, health and happiness. Love Annette x
