Hello Special People
"I give thanks for all the good in my life. I am incredibly blessed." Louise Hay
I guess most of us have seen all sorts of advertising material regarding "Black Friday."
It prompted me to delve a little further to find out the meaning and the background.
It is believed by many that the term Black Friday derives from the concept that businesses operate at a financial loss or are 'in the red.' Until the day after Thanksgiving, when massive sales finally allow them to turn a profit or put them 'in the black.'
Black Friday sales are a series of deep discounts retailers offer Friday after Thanksgiving to mark the start of the holiday shopping season.
In Australia, the term is controversial, as prior to its popularisation as a shopping day, it referred not to shopping at all but to the devastating Black Friday bushfires that occurred in Victoria in 1938-39.
While I don't normally include business in our Blogs, it would be remiss of me not to share that Nutrimetics, like most other businesses, has followed suit and offered some amazing deals for all our valued customers to enjoy.
Brisbane is looking amazing after all our recent rain; however, the river is still chocolate brown, and very quickly, we have reverted to high humidity, which I certainly do not enjoy.
With John still not feeling 100% it prompted me to find the steering wheel again in the car. It's amazing when you are the driver and how your focus quickly shifts to concentration. John is exceptional in finding his way around Brisbane. I cheat a little and, if in doubt, find my way back to Windsor Road and commence from there. John finds this hilarious. I take the back roads even if it takes a little longer as I dislike that bumper-to-bumper traffic and impatient drivers cutting in and out.
Yesterday was a great lesson for me. Drivers are unforgiving if you happen to get into the wrong lane. Wrong lane means – keep going. I was coming home yesterday and found myself answering a phone call – BIG MISTAKE – losing concentration and found myself in the outside lane instead of the middle lane. The middle lane meant 3 minutes to get home, and the outside land meant half an hour. Down the Legacy Way tunnel, which seemed to go on to eternity, and then the dreaded road sign above 'congestion ahead'. Yep, into five lanes of bumper-to-bumper traffic on the Western Freeway at 5 p.m. heading towards Ipswich and Toowoomba when I needed to be heading in the opposite direction.
While I often close with a message from Adele Basheer, I thought I would share her message on life….Life is all about "Showing up on the page. You may not know where to begin or where it will lead you, but as long as you show up, you are halfway there." 'She believes within each of us is the capacity to express love, to show compassion, share a magic moment and make a difference. When you open your heart, you add light to the world.``
This is the most beautiful close for this week. Blessings to each of you as you make it a magic week.
Love Annette
