Hello Special People
"I allow my body to tell me what forms of self-care it needs. I exercise because it is not only good for me but also fun!" While I love all of Louise's wisdom, I'm not so sure that I can agree with the "but also fun"!!!!
I guess the question today is, are you enjoying all this rain, or have you had enough? Here in Bris Vegas, the rain has just pelted down for the past couple of days. It has sent the river into mud mode. It is a terrible chocolate brown, which is to be expected with the large amount of runoff we are having from the rain.
We love the view here of the daily changes and happenings on the river. At the moment, we are watching our City Cats acknowledging the children's TV series "Bluey". One of the City Cats is decked out in Bluey’s colours, while another is the colours of Bingo. They are advertising the live show at the Playhouse, which is being held over the school holidays. Bluey has an amazing background. He was created by Brisbane father, Joe Brumm, who, with the assistance of Ludo Studios and students from QUT and Griffith Universities, turned his imagination into the world-renowned Children's TV series. For those of you who have sat with your children or grandchildren, you will see Brisbane in the series. The houses, the Parks and, of course, the City Cats are all part of the series. Now the City Cats are returning the favor with the two boats decked out in the colors of the series. For me, it is well done, Brisbane, Queensland and Australia. Bluey is recognized and loved worldwide. It is so warming to see Australia matching it with the world. Let's hope Joe Brumm or someone else can come up with another idea to keep us on the world stage.

While we are still discussing the river, we must complement the rowers. They were out in the driving rain this week. The low visibility had no effect. I thought they were crazy. Not sure how their boats were not filled with water, the rain was so heavy. Wonder if the rowers agree with Louise? Exercise is not only good for me but also fun!! Maybe debatable this week.
When we sold our property in Windsor Road, I was asked how much money will you need to live on each week, Annette? My reply is that I will be happy as long as I have enough money to purchase fresh flowers each week. I have included some photos of our gorgeous flowers this week. The fragrance in the unit is divine. I love that we are so close to the new Flowermart. Her flowers, stocks, freesias, alstroemerias, paper daisies, and peonies are all grown in Tasmania and transported fresh every Monday and Thursday. You will notice in one of the photos the orchids from my sisters for my birthday. I am so thrilled that every bud has opened. They love the position here in the unit. Normally, I find that the baby buds fall without opening.
On the family front this week, we are celebrating Mark's birthday. He and Amy are off to the Gold Coast for the celebration. Exams are over for all the grandchildren. Will did his last presentation on Friday. Mathilda finished midweek, and Johnny finished his Grade 12 exams yesterday. It was a big relief for all of them, and now, of course, they await the all-important results. Johnny would love to come to Uni here in Australia. He has his applications in and now, as mentioned, just awaits his results.
We love the rain and must admit I do think of our garden in Windsor Road when we are having this beautiful rain; it is pleasing to see the sun trying to break through this morning. As I look out the window, I see a little patch of blue sky, so the rain may have gone, and we can have a drying day with the river restoring its normal colour.
As I reflect on the week, there is an attitude of gratitude Mother Nature delivers in so many different ways. I do love Louise's message to close this week – "I take the time to savour the beauty of my surroundings. I live in a bountiful, vibrant world." Yes, we are so blessed here in Australia.
Take care, and we send the blessings of peace and happiness as you take the time to enjoy the Beauty of Mother Nature this week.
Love Annette x
