Hello, Special People, as we welcome March.
I pledge to have more fun this month! When I take the fun-filled option. I recognize that this is a way of being nurturing to myself. The more fun I have, the more others enjoy being around me as well. In this way, I spread positive energy wherever I go. Louise Hay.
I am so excited to be talking to you this week. We have just returned from a fabulous few days in the Bunya Mountains. We went with my sisters and their husbands. We shared a house, and it was so much fun. Lots of stories, laughs, jokes, reminiscing, yummy food and a few wines here and there. John had to go to the local bottle shop on Sunday morning to replenish the supplies. It is something we are now planning to do more often. That is to go away together, not to replenish supplies of wine!!!
The Bunyas are so quiet, and the weather was superb. To top it off, there were markets for us girls to enjoy on Sunday morning. At one stage, I had so many bags John thought he might open up his own stall. "I could sell miscellaneous goods. I have so many assortments," he said. Always good for a laugh, John. We played Uno on Sunday afternoon, and I am still unsure if we were playing the correct rules. All the men had their own ideas, which seemed to favour them. They certainly did not want any of the girls winning. Fortunately, we girls can play under any rules and still win. Our accommodation was excellent. A house with three bedrooms and all with their own en-suites and plenty of open space. I was the chef for most of the weekend but had plenty of assistants in the preparation. The bird life was beautiful. Parrots coming onto the balcony and, in fact, not afraid to land on our heads and shoulders. I must say that I love the birds, but having them land on me is something I did not enjoy. Nice birds, but keep your distance.
Before heading off to the Bunyas, I joined my sister in Toowoomba to support the Toowoomba Hospice. Their mission – to provide safe, quality care in partnership with the community for those with a terminal illnesses. It is run entirely by donations to provide free palliative care to those in need. I will have Kat pop in a couple of photos of the gorgeous dahlias on the tables. They so reminded me of our days living with Mum and Dad in Toowoomba as they grew the most beautiful dahlias, and it is not often that you see them in the florists.
It has been so hot here in Brisbane. We have been going to Aqua yoga a little early so we can jump into the pool. Today is Gym day, so we will not be staying cool for long. In fact, I can feel the perspiration starting to drip off me already. "We will shed a few kilos here today," John said early this morning. He loves to stir me along on Gym Day.
We are looking forward to having Mark and Amy over from New Zealand next week. They are coming over for Amy's birthday and having a few days at Noosa. It will be very special to have them here with us again. John is busily chasing prices for new tyres on our car and is always on the lookout for a bargain, so if you know of any super deals or the best place to purchase tyres, please give us a call.
Let's leave this week with the touching message from Adele Basheer. Every dream carries the possibility that something bigger than you ever dared to imagine is going to unfold.
Sending blessings for the happiest week as we move into Autumn. I Always love Autumn and The softness in the air it brings.
Love Annette
