Hello Special People
“My home is a peaceful haven, and love fills every corner.” Louise Hay
Yes, it has happened. I am back to exercise. Our first day, and believe it or not, I came home smiling. The students are not back at Uni this week, so the guy in charge had me running solo. "With your experience, Annette, I am sure you can run through your program yourself. I'll be keeping an eye on you." However, I must confess I did not fully extend myself. That is why I came home smiling. So, one week down only 50 more to go.
I mentioned last week our downsizing and moving to a Unit. This week, we found out the new Unit is now running further behind. The builders are blaming the excessive wet weather for extending the delay. The completion date has now been pushed out until the 3rd Quarter of 2024 (July-Sept), which is almost 12 months behind. It is easy to understand short-term delays, but it does become disappointing when you consider we should already be living in the new Unit. John is particularly disappointed. He was not happy with the latest report from the developers. However, there is nothing we can do about it. Looking on the bright side, the delay is giving us more time to declutter, declutter, declutter.
John's friend – the Stylist – will be back in account in the first week of February, and the photographer will follow the next day. From these happenings we will see signs out the front and the formal advertising begin. It will be an exciting time and will certainly take our minds off the new unit.
Mathilda came over on Tuesday all excited. She had just had her interview with a Law Firm, and seven minutes later, they were back online, offering her the part-time position she was looking for. Quite interesting, really. At first, she was only looking for one day a week, but then she realized that she could attend lectures after work, so now she wants to negotiate with the firm for another couple of days in the office. Both her brothers worked almost full time and still manage their Uni obligations. So, I guess the boys may have been in the background encouraging her to strive for more hours. She was excited, and it was so beautiful to see. Jack, her brother, who has just graduated, is only a week away from moving into his own office. He joked this week that his Law Certificate will be going up on the wall. Must be an exciting feeling and a relieved feeling knowing they have achieved this major milestone in their life. His firm gives all the Graduates time in each department so they can choose the type of work they wish to specialize in.
It is a beautiful day here in Brisbane today, but I extend my thoughts to those poor people in North Queensland. They have had no rest from disaster in the last few months, and there is more to follow. Like us, please include them in your prayers.
"No matter how far or how wide I roam…….I still call Australia Home” Wishing you all the blessings of a great weekend.
Love Annette
