Hello Special People
Well, what a fantastic week it has been in the French household. I have never seen John's face glowing so much. He tells me it is the new Restore Pro products he is using. He jokes that he doesn't have to turn on the headlights in the car when he is driving his skin is so shiny. (A little over the top, but he thinks it funny) However, I know there is a little more behind the scenes to his smiling face.
In case you haven't heard, Queensland won the State of Origin, the Broncos won on Saturday night, and two of the syndicate horses won over the weekend. I can tell you, on Sunday afternoon, he was just beside himself. I had to find some jobs for him to settle him down. I have to concede I took a cup of tea up to him on State of Origin night. There was still 20 minutes to play, and yes, I got wrapped up in the excitement, and we were both on the edge of our seats urging the Maroons to victory. John was the same on Saturday night. The Broncos were given a scare by the Titans, and by the end of this game, he was even standing up urging. The same with his horses. They both came from last to first. They were carrying John as well, so it was a mighty effort. So, lots of fun and games in the household this week.
From the fun and happiness to commence the week to a sad and more serious note. We are lamenting the loss of our Nutrimetics founder Bill Roche. Bill was a marvellous guy and certainly played a big part in the success of our business and the success of so many others, which of course, led to him and Imelda, his wife, being extremely successful. We certainly have an extreme attitude of gratitude for the mentoring and leadership he gave us and so many others in our business over those early years. They are such very special people. We were blessed to view the live stream of Bill's last farewell. It was such an emotional service with his wife, Imelda of 65 years, along with his four children and 13 grandchildren, all contributing and sharing snippets of this exceptional man’s life. He will be sadly missed by so many of us. He leaves a tremendous legacy to us personally and also to the business.
How good it is to see it warming up a little. This week has been beautiful in Brisbane. John and I enjoyed lunch down by the river a day or two ago, and both of us remarked how beautiful it was with the clear blue sky and the sun shining on the water. The food was great, and I did enjoy the red wine and gift voucher the children had given us. John seems to have a knack for choosing what wine goes best with what we order. Maybe that comes from experience!!!! He certainly has done his share of tasting over the years. I have to smile when we have the grandsons texting him when they are out to get his guidance on which wine to select.
I guess when I look back over this last week, like so many of us, life sends us all some twists and turns. It takes sadness to know happiness, noise to appreciate silence, and absence to value presence.
"Life is like a camera. Focus on what's important. Capture the good times. Develop from the negatives and if things don't work out, just take another shot."
