Hello Special People
This week, we welcome Winter along with our June message from Louise. “ I express deep appreciation for my community. My neighborhood is a joy to live in. I have only harmonious relationships with my neighbors, and we are all friendly and concerned for each other's welfare. We are all lovable and worthy of love, and we are compassionate people who look out for each other. I am so grateful to live in such a supportive environment with the most incredible people.”
Yes, I agree. It's hard to believe we are almost halfway through the year. "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Ferris Bueller
Well, the winter warmers are out in the French household. I can't believe how quickly it has changed. However, it is Winter, so we can expect it to get colder in the next couple of months. While I enjoy the cold weather, I also like being warm, so it is tracksuit time already. In fact, I managed to purchase a couple of new ones this week. We must keep up with the modern trends, don't we girls?
I continue testing my soup-making skills, as nothing is better than a hot bowl or cup of soup in the cooler weather. Mr Google continues to provide the latest recipes which we are enjoying.
John has been in Footy heaven all week. He prepares so well for his State of Origin, and of course, we won, so he is really showing what a proud Queenslander he is. Lang Park is his second home during the footy season. He is at every Broncos game. He must get there early to get his special seat. I have heard whispers that we may all be going to the third game scheduled here in Brisbane in July. I must admit, while I am not a footy fan, I do enjoy the tremendous atmosphere these games provide.
We enjoyed a lovely day on Wednesday at the Sunshine Coast with my sister and husband, who are having a week at Cotton Tree. John and I joined them for lunch, which was most enjoyable. It was a beautiful day, and we love their company. We were amazed at the change at Cotton Tree. So many new high-rise buildings. It started me realizing it had been quite a while since we had taken the opportunity to have a day at the beach. We will certainly make an effort in the Spring when it is a little warmer, as John loves to go in for a swim.
We are feeling for the grandchildren now with university exams upon them. Will had a four-day trot this week – one after the other – and you can see the toll it has taken on him: very, very late nights and very big days. Mathilda is a little more relaxed being a first yearer. But maybe she will change as she awaits the results in the next few weeks. Going through University is a challenge, but it is certainly a benefit when it is all over, and they have exceptional careers in front of them. Jack is realizing this right now as he moves through his graduate year.
Thank heaven for heated swimming pools. John and I are still enjoying Aqua Yoga exercises. We were in the pool at Newmarket at 7 a.m. today, and I know we would not have been there if the water was not heated. We love to keep our joints moving, and Aqua Yoga is ideal for this.
This week's smile is on me: -While the weather is so beautiful, we decided to take a walk on Sunday. I tried a new lippy to spruce up and asked John his thoughts. He hesitated and replied it reminds me of one of the clowns in the circus with bright red lips!! Not exactly the response I was expecting. However, "A good laugh heals a lot of hurts."
It reminded me - the ability to laugh at ourselves has always been important.
Today, we have clowns who make us laugh, and I thought the following interesting.
If we look closely at a clown's face, we will often notice a bit of sadness around the eyes. Clowns can easily move from sad expressions to ones full of delight. For all of us, laughter and tears come from the same deep well inside. And often, after a good cry, we find ourselves ready to laugh easily and joyfully. Laughter is a gift waiting for us.
So, let's close this week with the happy message from Adele Basheer for June: Embrace Your Bliss. Make time for the little sparkles of love and light that pour sunshine on your soul.
We send the blessings of love and light to each of you.
