Hello Special People
Plant gratitude, and it will grow. From just one seed, thousands of lives are touched.
Yes, as we walk our daily lives and we can all be thrown some curve balls, it is always comforting to find something to be grateful for.
We are certainly blessed here in Australia and Brisbane to be enjoying this lovely time of the year. John and I are really enjoying getting out of the unit and enjoying the outside world. We are choosing our time to go for walks along the river when it is not too busy and yes, we have found the pool here at the unit complex and have started doing our own Aqua Yoga program. John is even doing a few laps. Not many, but I notice he is building on them. We were back at QUT Gym on Wednesday. It was the first time in several weeks. They have been so busy there. They could not fit us in. But back now, and nothing has changed—hard work. I know I need it, but I certainly do not enjoy it. I love the fact we are part of the student's education so that drives me to change my attitude and make sure I am there every week.
After our afternoon walk this week, we enjoyed the beautiful gardens. John enjoyed sitting, and I loved taking off the shoes and feeling the soft green grass, having a walk, and taking a couple of photos to share.
We are loving the City Cats. It is so easy and accommodating, and we are just one stop from the Queen Street Mall from our temporary home here in Auchenflower. We had another excursion on Saturday. It is time for shorts, isn't it girls? I just did not have any, so off we went on a shopping spree. Yep, can't have shorts without tops so did a few add-ons as well. John looked a little ragged by the time we arrived home. He even tripped up the stairs as we left the City Cat terminal. I don't think our men folk realise just how difficult shopping or at least finding the right pieces can be. Maybe it has something to do with how the body continually wants to change shape!!!!!
Our latest Netflix series, "The Resident", is keeping us interested. We love the characters, and the storyline is good. One season down, but I have noticed there are quite a few, so we could be involved for some time. We only manage a couple of episodes each night before we start nodding off. We even had to do a rewind on a whole session this week. We had missed so much while snoozing and we hate missing any of the action.
Jack and Will were over for dinner on Tuesday night. Leisa and Craig are having a break at their place in Yamba, so the boys are batching. I think they were missing having their meals ready for them and insisted on a visit to enjoy Pa's Lemon Herb Risotto. It is their favourite. They love it with chicken, while I insist they have a green to go with it. That part does not go over well. A lovely night. They are always good company.
We have just received news that the "Coffee Brigade", the group who hand sandwiches and coffee to our homeless people each morning, is to be recognised by the city with the Storey Bridge to be lit up in Blue and White on Saturday 13th October. The committee has organised a BYO BBQ at Burke Park for the special switching-on ceremony. I love this charity, and we were at HQ making sandwiches this week. The Coffee Brigade deserves every bit of recognition.
Confirmation of our new unit's completion is still in the air. The Block itself looks so lovely. We still go down each week for a look, but we can't see any real reason why we can't have a little look inside. Indications are that November may be the finish, so there must be plenty to do internally. John is pretty restless, and while he is not looking forward to moving again, I know he is looking forward to having us settled in our new home at Rivello.
Once again, our week has centred around our family. So, our dictionary says:- family – noun | /fam.i.ly/ people in your life who are close to your heart, who bring out the best in you, who laugh, celebrate, and dream with you, who love you infinitely.
Yep, that sums us up pretty well.
And we send the blessings of peace, health and happiness from our family to each of your families for the coming week.
Love Annette x
