Hello Special People
“Autumn leaves are reminding me to release and just let go: and open space with ease and grace for miracles to grow.” Mary Davis
Yes, we trust you are all enjoying our lovely Autumn Weather. It is such a relief. I was really suffering in the final weeks of summer. The heat was stifling, and the humidity quite a challenge. John does not mind it and he cannot understand why I make such a big issue of it.
As I reflect on the week, appreciation and gratitude come to mind. It has been a week of appointments for us. I guess those of you in our age range would appreciate what I am saying. Appointments have become a compulsory part of life. I have had my annual visit to the breast clinic, my monthly visit to the kinesiologist, my new Podiatrist and John has his annual Cardiologist appointment tomorrow. After donning the high heels for Jack's graduation back in December and walking the concrete hill, I developed Plantar Fasciitis, hence the visit to the Podiatrist. After one visit to find the correct exercises, I have seen a major improvement, followed by a shopping expedition to the Good Feet Store for the appropriate shoes. I'm unsure why I waited over three months to rectify the problem. We are so blessed and so grateful to have such talented people looking after us and ensuring we maintain good health.
On the brighter side of the week, we had a lovely dinner on Saturday night at Bois Bois restaurant on the Ground Floor of the Hotel X in Fortitude Valley to enjoy a voucher from the grandchildren. The highlight of the night was the sweets. We each decided on a different dessert to share and were not disappointed. So grateful for the Uber drivers who drop us at reception and then pick us up after the meal. It makes the evening so enjoyable not having to navigate the nighttime traffic.
I found this post on FB this week appropriate. "We interrupt this marriage to bring you Football Season." Yep, the Footy season is in full swing. John had a day of mourning with the Bronco's performance in Las Vegas. John just cannot stand them losing. He is off to the game tonight, hoping they can redeem themselves. He is exhausted after each game. You would think he had played the full 80 minutes. I can hear him talking to himself and to the referee when he disagrees with the decision. To add to footy misery, the Lions losing by one point after leading by 46 was, in John's words, unforgivable.
We continue with our open houses each week. Normally, we have one mid-week and then another at the weekend. While we have had plenty of folks who love the house and the serenity and peace of our position, we are still to find that buyer who loves our home as much as we do. The exercise has really shown us just how little area we need to live in each week. It is proving great practice for our downsizing and transition to our unit.
I guess the week reminds me to find something in every day that I can genuinely be grateful for. Trust that life is good. Trust and gratitude are sufficient.
Let’s close this week with the Autumn message – As we see the Beauty of Autumn, let us see the blessings which are ours.
We thank you once again for all your lovely feedback as we share our week with you all, and we send you blessings of health and happiness for the coming week.
Love Annette x
