Hello Special People
Wow, hasn't it been rather warm this week? The air conditioner has been going all day somedays. I guess we are in the middle of January, so we should be expecting to see it so warm. I have to tell you.
I cannot stand the heat. Our air conditioning has been working overtime. When we were making the decision to move to Brisbane some 20 years ago, the air conditioning was high on the installation ranks or as I said to John at the time, "We won't be going." So it, the aircon, was first off the renovation rank.
John was the one who made the initial commitment to move to Brisbane. First of all, he wanted to be closer to the grandchildren, and he was a little weary of the trip toing and froing to Brisbane. He used to worry about me returning home late at night after babysitting for a day. I must confess I did have some trips along the Gatton bypass that I should not talk about because there was a fair amount of nodding. So John solved the problem. "Let's go and live down there," he said one night. I was a little shocked, to say the least. However, John had committed, and no one was changing his mind from that point.
We all make commitments, don't we? I know I have made many with our Nutrimetics business. Perhaps the first was to improve a family situation. We needed an extra car, so I committed to achieving one. There are many meanings to the word. It could be a promise to do or give something.
A promise to be loyal to someone or something. We commit to charities, or perhaps it's the attitude of someone who works very hard to do or support something.
I believe the best way to describe commitment is that it is the quality of being dedicated to an activity or cause. You become engaged or obligated to something, and you endeavour to see it through.
Just like John did once he made up his mind to move to Brisbane.
It would be remiss of me not to align commitment to our weekly exercise program, which I know you all realize that I just love. Well, we have had five weeks break, and I am afraid the lack of commitment to follow through doing what we intended was evident. We have changed our day from Thursday to Tuesday, so away we went at 9am yesterday, and we are now back, fully committed to being there on time each week.
As well as the commencement back to exercises I have decided to do a seven-day juice detox. I have just completed day three. Jason Vale from England has been doing juices for around 20 years, so I decided to commit to his challenge. There is a little too much Xmas, and New Year on the body, so again, I am committed to seeing the seven days through. I will keep you posted.
I would love to hear if you have decided to commit to anything special for 2022. As always, thank you for your lovely feedback and comments. It is a pleasure being able to keep in touch with our weekly blog.
Guess the saying for today from our friend Louise Hay is most appropriate –“ The two main keys to positive changes in my life are self-approval and self-acceptance. I know these qualities work to make my life the best it can be."
The perspiration is pouring down my face, so I am off to pop on the air conditioner so until next week, stay cool and safe.
Cheers Annette
