Hello Special People
Today I want to chat about "Customer Service". I have always impressed on John how important it is to our business. I know I expect it when I go shopping, whether it be online or person to person.

But what bought it to the fore for me this week is the service I have received from a family-run Chocolate Company in Melbourne. I have been buying from them since last Christmas. Our grandson Jack introduced us to the brand “Chocilo". I loved what was in his gift and followed the company online. Each order I have placed has arrived in a matter of days in the most beautiful gift box with the accompanying ice pack. This week has been extra special. I needed Christmas gifts rather urgently, so I mentioned this to them, and we virtually had the order back overnight. It is this Customer Servicing that encourages us to recommend the "Chocilo” company. The chocolates are so yummy. I so clearly remember in my early days in the business learning very quickly that while we love our customers to return to us time and time again that it is when our customer becomes an advocate for us and recommends us to others that the ripple effect really comes into play.

“ The purpose of a business is to create a customer who creates more customers” Shir Singh.
It is a great time of the year for companies to put their best foot forward. There is no better time than the busy Christmas shopping period to impress everyone. Customer Service is the basis for communicating, distributing and transacting directly with your consumers. Lead the way with far higher efficiency, and I can guarantee you higher profitability. When you reward people, it comes back to you two-fold.
I love this motto I saw on a delivery van this week. "Each day, our ability and professionalism is tested, and each day we exceed the expectation of our clients." What a great attitude for that company. Maybe they should talk to some of our banks. Many of them have lost what “Customer Servicing” is all about. If you can’t do your banking online, it is very difficult to find a face-to-face person who can help. John and I are involved in volunteering for a small not-for-profit group. It took us three trips to the bank, two meetings with other account signatories along with a number of follow up phone calls, not to mention the number of items required to prove our identity before we were able to open a new bank account under $100 to be able to service the group. You can imagine my frustration, having worked in the bank for over ten years.
During our lockdown period, John and I have had many companies that have only been so happy to deliver our requirements to our front door. Some we were using for the first time, and some were where we shopped before lockdowns. It is these wonderful experiences you don't forget. You remember, and you continue to reward them with your loyalty. I love this enclosed YouTube clip of Johnny the Bagger. This will bring tears to your eyes but really reflects how simple and easy customer servicing can be.
So, guess when we think about our own business, we start to ask the question – how can I improve our "Customer Service? It is undoubtedly a rewarding and worthwhile exercise.

Until next week take care and stay safe as we wish each of you the blessings of peace, health and happiness.
Cheers, Annette.
