Hello Special People
As I turned over the diary date for today, I thought it worth sharing;-" I am always in the right place at the right time, doing just the right thing. There is no 'wrong' in my life." Louise Hay
Well, folk, I think my husband has converted me into a real footy fan. I mean all codes. I had such a fun night at the Women's World Cup Soccer match on Monday night, and tomorrow night, I am off to the Gabba to watch the Broncos take on Parramatta. Yep, can you believe I have succumbed to being involved in football? Maybe John is leading up to the Grand Finals. There was some mention that the Broncos and the Lions could make it, and we should be booking airfare and accommodation in Sydney for the Broncos and Melbourne for the Lions. No, it's not going to happen - as I can tell you both fell on deaf ears!!!!
But back to Monday's World Cup match. It was so exciting. Nigeria against England. It went into extra time, and a shoot-out decided the final result. Apart from the match, I must congratulate the organizers. The Keeper greeted us with a beautiful smile and showed John where he could leave our umbrella, and the presentation before the match was so enjoyable. Of course, the crowd played their role in the seesawing match with the huge Wave and everyone participating. It filled my heart watching all the young children with the respective team colours and flags and joining in the fun of the large crowd of 49,000. We are so grateful to our niece in Boston, who arranged tickets for us some months ago. It was a great experience; we were so blessed to have been part of the lifetime opportunity. We came home and watched the remainder of the Matilda's. So, I am really getting involved.
Tomorrow night the match is at the Gabba. Mark and Amy have arranged tickets from their friend and Broncos Coach, Kevin Walters. While rugby league is not my favourite, I am looking forward to watching the game played at the Gabba plus joining Mark and Amy, which is really the bonus.
We enjoyed Mathilda’s 18th birthday celebrations on Friday evening, and we had Will's 21st Birthday party on Saturday night. He turned 21 on the 4th of July, and Saturday is the Party night. He was telling us through the week, he has 80-90 guests, so it will be lovely catching up with so many of his friends and their families.
We would also love to share with you all the exciting news of Jack, our eldest grandson, who received the number one Graduate position with his law firm for 2024. We are being educated as to how this all works. My understanding was that after their six years of study, they automatically become lawyers. However, this is not the case. After their six years of study, they all have to apply for a Graduate position with a law firm. Then, on Monday of this week, every law firm in Brisbane announced who their graduates will be for 2024. We are so thrilled for him, and of course, to say we are proud would be an understatement.
Like all families, the pace continues and never seems to stop in this household. Maybe after our visit to the strawberry farm on Sunday, we will enjoy a quiet day of rest. By - "Acknowledging the good that we already have in our life is the foundation for all abundance". Eckhart Tolle.
Sending the blessings of peace, health and happiness from our home to each of you and your families. Enjoy this gorgeous weather. I think Spring has invited herself to join the Winter Party.
Love Annette
