Hello Special People
Yep, like yourselves, it is hard to believe that we are already in August. I remember, like yesterday, putting all the files away at the end of the financial year last year, and here we are again. I love our August message from Louise Hay to commence the month – "This is a wonderful month for giving to others. Every day, I look for ways I can be of service, offering patience, encouragement, support, the gift of a smile, forgiveness, and, most of all, appreciation. Each unique relationship is a cause for celebration. Giving and receiving love is so easy when I relax and just allow it to flow."
News from our place this week started with our weekly visit to the strawberry farm. Previously, I could always take or leave strawberries, but after finding the local farm at Rochedale, John and I really adopted. We pop down every Sunday morning for the week's supply. I Love supporting the local growers who work so hard. We now have all the family joining in, so we come home with quite a supply, with Mark and Leisa joining the order. They are so beautiful and sweet; last weekend, they came directly from the bushes. They were so fresh.
John continually teases me about 'add-ons'. I am always trying to fit just one more thing into the day. Same on Sunday: "John would be lovely to go to the Manly Boat Club for lunch”. The reply set up the navigation, and we are off to the Boat Club. Mark and Amy joined us last Sunday, and we settled in for most of the afternoon. It is such a lovely spot looking out over the water, and especially nice to share with family. Fresh strawberries for dessert, followed by chocolate gelato. So decadent!
After a couple of full-on weeks, Marianne Williamson reminds us, "Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are." We are blessed.
Our granddaughter Mathilda turns 18 tomorrow and is off for her driving test for her license. She has been driving for quite a while and is reasonably confident. However, she does realize that she must perform on the day. So, we will say a few prayers and wish her well.
We are off to the World Cup Women's Football on Monday afternoon. Our niece Megan has purchased tickets for us, along with my sister Dianne and her husband. It will be England against Nigeria. We are really looking forward to the experience, but like so many sporting events, we have had trouble transferring the tickets from Megan, who is in Boston, USA, to Dianne here in Australia. After our recent episodes in purchasing tickets for our Lions membership, I was able to add my little five cents worth and suggested they may need the FIFA App. Apparently, this worked, and the problem has been solved.
"You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside." Wayne Dyer. This was my reminder this week as I continued to navigate and learn the new company IT system. Oh! My goodness. While I appreciate that it has so many added features from our old system, I don't find change easy. The updated system does not give us the flexibility that we have become accustomed to with our old system regarding deadlines, unfortunately. However, like anything new, it is going to take us some time to adjust, hence the necessary reminder from Mr Dwyer.
I thought Adele Basheer’s message for August appropriate to close for this week – “Trust – The Universe works in mysterious ways. Trust that everything happens at the right time for the right reasons.”
As we share our week with you all, we also love to hear from you about your week, and we close by sending the blessings of peace, health and happiness.
Love Annette x
