Hello everyone, and a warm welcome to March
This week to commence, we turn our focus to International Women's Day. It is a Worldwide Event celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. We certainly could do with a boost here in Australia with some of the recent happenings.
What are your thoughts? Are we being treated as equals, or do you see that women are still seen as a step below men? Fortunately, I have never been treated harshly, but when I read or watch the news at the moment, it does disturb me.
I guess working in a women-dominated industry like Nutrimetics makes life a lot easier. I have always loved what I do. I have a real attitude of gratitude to Nutrimetics for John and our family's lifestyle, and I have been blessed to enjoy it. We are fortunate on a day to day basis to celebrate the tremendous effort of so many women in our business who continue to make a difference in so many lives.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated around the world on the 8th of March. Since 1990, UN Women Australia has hosted the pre-eminent IWD events around the country, representing the United Nations Gender Equality agency. New in 2021, they are live streaming the events concurrently to a virtual platform. These can be watched live or for a limited period afterwards, from anywhere across Australia. Australian of the Year Grace Tame will be their headline speaker, along with a diverse range of inspirational women leaders.
The theme for this year’s day is Choose to Challenge. Collectively we can all help create an inclusive world. From Challenge comes Change, so let’s all “Choose to Challenge.”
Maybe the company will surprise us all with some extra special specials to celebrate International Women's day, so stay tuned. Is there something we could all do to make this day even more special for someone else?
